ANT BAIT STATIONS WITH ATTRACTANT VECTOR COMPARTMENT AND EASY OPENING

An ant bait station is formed as a stick pack having multiple compartments, wherein each of the compartments contain a bait for a target ant species, and includes a plurality of apertures to the respective compartments. Some or all of the baits may contain a pesticide, for example a borate. In at least one of the compartments containing a pesticide, the apertures are large enough to permit the target ants to enter and exit. In some embodiment a compartment contains a bait without a pesticide. This may improve performance if the non-pesticidal bait attracts ants to the trap, and the lack of pesticidal component extends the life of the attractant. The compartment containing the bait without a pesticide may have apertures that are too small to permit the ants from entering and exiting.

A remote insect monitor and associated method include a container configured to allow an insect attractant within the container to escape into ambient air proximate a landing area. At least one detection sensor generating sensor data of insects proximate the landing area, and a control module has a processor and a memory storing machine readable instructions executable by the processor to process the sensor data and count insects proximate the landing area. The remote insect monitor and associated method may also include an analyzer for analyzing an insect of interest to determine whether the insect carries a disease, wherein the control module sends an indication of whether the insect carries the disease to the remote server.

PEST DETECTION

A system (10) for remote detection of pests, in this case as applied to a domestic dwelling (11) where a base station (12) communicates with eight detector or monitor units (13). The dotted (lines (14) indicate wired or wireless communication between the units (13) and the base station (12). As used herein the expressions “monitor” and “detector” are used interchangeably or where the detector is used as part of a box or cartridge where the detector is part (and may be reusable and separable) the whole unit including the detector part may be referred to as a monitor.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRAPPING FLYING INSECT PESTS
20170231210 · 2017-08-17 · ·

An apparatus for trapping flying insect pests, including:

a device for diffusing in the surrounding ambient air a gaseous lure the composition of which is suitable for attracting the insects; a device for sucking a flow of surrounding ambient air containing the insects attracted by the diffused gaseous lure, an insect trap arranged with the suction device so the insects sucked by said device are retained in said trap.

Method to Rapidly Detect Insects in Granular Materials
20170231240 · 2017-08-17 ·

A rapid method to detect and/or remove mobile insects inside granular material is presented. The core of this method is to heat grain samples to the desired temperatures (about 55 C) using microwave or radio frequency energy to force insects to move out of the granular material.

COVERED LIQUID GRAVITY FEED ANT ELIMINATION SYSTEM AND COVER ASSEMBLIES FOR BIOLOGICAL INSECT PEST CONTROL
20170231211 · 2017-08-17 ·

Disclosed are devices for eliminating airborne and crawling insect pests including a base carrying a membrane ring and insect feeding pool; a stem mounted to the base having a lower portion that covers the membrane ring; a reservoir positioned atop the stem, the reservoir adapted to contain liquid bait; stress duct openings disposed in the stem for metering flow of the liquid bait from the reservoir to the insect feeding pool; and a cover positioned atop the reservoir and extending radially outward therefrom to span and cover the base, the cover housing at least one of a metered bioattractant dispenser, a metered biopathogen dispenser, a light source, and a solar panel. Also disclosed are pest control device cover assemblies configured for attachment to existing pest control device(s) that allow for enhanced elimination airborne and crawling insect pests.

Method and System for Controlling and Communicating the Statuses of Insect Bait Stations
20170223942 · 2017-08-10 ·

A device for controlling at least one insect bait station (100), in particular for insects harmful to humans, animals and plants, in which the bait station is provided with: at least one container (3, 5) provided with an insect entrance opening, the container containing bait and being at least partially transparent or translucent, a lighting device (10) lighting the inside of the container but located outside same, a telecommunication module (23, 25) and a printed circuit comprising, inter alia, a memory and a processor connected to said telecommunication means. The device comprises an optical sensor essentially opposite the lighting device, and connected to the printed circuit (12), which measures the general opacity caused by the insect(s) in the container, the corresponding value being transmitted for processing and analysis of the status of the bait station.
