A retractable reel system includes a reel, a gear assembly, a paddle wheel and a spring. The reel includes a concentric wheel shaft where the reel and wheel shaft rotate to wind and unwind a length of material from the reel. The gear assembly engages with an end of the wheel shaft to provide a gear reduction ratio between the wheel shaft and an output shaft of the gear assembly. The paddle wheel is connected to and concentric with the output shaft, and the paddle wheel includes a paddle that extends beyond an outer edge of the paddle wheel that rotates with the paddle wheel. The spring is arranged outside the outer edge of the paddle wheel. The spring is compressed by the paddle to store an energy when the reel is rotated to unwind the length of material from the reel. The stored energy is used to rotate the reel to wind the length of material around the reel.

An earphone storage device includes a storage body having a bobbin, a track, and two sliders. The bobbin has a peripheral surface, an upper surface, a lower surface, a helical groove, and a protrusion. The helical groove is formed on the peripheral surface. The protrusion extends from the lower surface. The protrusion has a side surface and a hole formed in the side surface. The track is secured to the upper surface of the bobbin. The sliders are disposed on the track. The storage body stores earphones with an audio plug, earphone cords, and a pair of earbuds. The audio plug is inserted into the hole of the protrusion of the bobbin, the earphone cords are wound in the helical groove of the bobbin, and the earbuds are held by the sliders. The earphones can be securely stored, and the earphone cords do not tangle.

A retractable leash has been developed which comprises a housing containing a spring-loaded spool having a leash wound thereon and a device for controlling the length of the leash, comprising at least one means for locking the movement of the spool, wherein the device for controlling the length of the leash comprises a device for determining the movement of the spool, an electronic device linked thereto for controlling said means for locking the movement of the spool, a device for activating and deactivating the electronic device for controlling the means for locking the movement of the spool, at least one actuator of the means for locking the movement of the spool, said actuator being connected to the device for controlling the means for locking the movement of the spool, and at least one power supply.

DEVICES AND METHODS RELATED TO MEDICAL TUBES

Apparatus and methods for clearing obstructions from a medical tube are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a spool drive system is disclosed for actuating a guide wire within a medical tube. The spool drive system can be a hand held, disposable device having a spool housing with a spool therein for alternately advancing and withdrawing a guide wire through an inlet of the spool housing. A track can be spaced from and extend about a perimeter of the spool to direct the guide wire onto or off of the spool as the spool is rotated. Other embodiments and devices for actuating the guide wire, and methods therefor, also are disclosed.

A pet leash preventing locking due to jerk includes a housing provided with a handle and a reel disk arranged in the housing. The reel disk is rotatably connected to the housing. A leash rope is wound on the reel disk. One end of the leash rope penetrates through the housing. The housing is provided with a rotary damper. A clutch structure is provided between the reel disk and the rotary damper, and is actuable under a centrifugal force to connect the reel disk to the rotary damper when a rotation speed of the reel disk exceeds a predetermined rotation speed.
