20170021954 · 2017-01-26 · ·

In a method for producing a collection (20) of pre-products by inserting a first pre-product (1) into a second pre-product (3), it is provided according to the invention that a first pre-product (1) and a second pre-product (3) are provided, wherein the second pre-product (3) has a wrapping fold (4) with a fold inner side (5). The second pre-product (3) is conveyed into an insertion position, in which the second pre-product (3) is opened and faces with the fold inner side (5) toward the first pre-product (1). The first pre-product (1) is conveyed into the opened second pre-product (3) and against the fold inner side (5) so as to form the collection (20), the second pre-product (3) assumes the conveying direction of the first pre-product (1), and the collection (20) is provided for further processing.

Repositioning station

The repositioning station (200) allows a continuous shingled stream (120) of overlapping semirigid planar articles (100) to be transported on an incoming conveyor (122) along a transport circuit (204) onto an outgoing conveyor (302) so as to form a stack that can be carried away upon the outgoing conveyor (302). The repositioning station (200) includes a lateral deviation assembly (210) and may also include a final positioning assembly (212). The transport circuit (204) within the lateral deviation assembly (210) follows a generally ellipsoidal deviation path to veer the shingled stream (120) and also to pivot the articles (100) therein about a curvilinear axis (206) from a facedown position to an upright position. The outgoing conveyor (302) can carry the cartons (100) in a direction that is parallel to that of the incoming conveyor (122).

BOARD SECTIONS FOR MEDIA COLLECTION

In an example, a media handling device (100) comprises a media catcher (110) defining a first media collecting width (112) along a lateral direction. The device also comprises a first board section (120) defining a second media collecting width (122) along the lateral direction, the second media collecting width exceeding and at least partially overlapping the first media collecting width, and a second board section (130), whereby the first board section is at least partially located between the second board section and the media catcher, the first and second board sections forming an apex (125) along the second media collecting width to support media. The device further comprises an abutment (140) at a distal end of the first board section away from the apex, the abutment being located between the first board section and the media catcher.

DOCUMENT CONVEYING DEVICE

A document conveying device includes a conveyance path. The conveyance path includes a carry-in path, a reading path, an escape path, a loop path, and a discharge path. The carry-in path is formed between a document feed port and a first passing point in front of the reading position. The reading path is formed between the first passing point and a second passage point beyond the reading position, and passes through the reading position. The escape path is formed between the first passing point and the second passing point, and does not through the reading position. The loop path starts from the second passing point and returns to the second passing point. The discharge path is formed between the first passing point and a document discharge port.

Apparatus and method for gripping, lifting and inverting foam sheet

An apparatus and method for inverting a flexible foam sheet being conveyed on a moving conveyer grips the leading edge of the foam sheet with a clamp and raises the clamp above the moving conveyor surface. As the leading edge is held by the clamp, the foam sheet progressively separates from the moving conveyor surface and is curled back over itself until the trailing edge of the foam sheet passes beyond the clamp and the foam sheet is inverted. Upon releasing the clamp, the inverted foam sheet is deposited onto the moving conveyor, now with the former leading edge comprising the trailing edge. In an embodiment, the foam sheet comprises two profiled layers nested together, and the clamp lifts the leading edge of the top profiled layer to separate and invert such top layer from the bottom layer, depositing the inverted top layer onto the conveyor behind the bottom layer.
