An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a reversing portion configured to reverse the sheet received through a first feeding passage by feeding the sheet in a first direction and then in a second direction opposite to the first direction, a sheet feeding portion provided in a second feeding passage branching from the first feeding passage on a side upstream of the reversing portion with respect to the first direction, a first guiding surface forming the second feeding passage for guiding a first surface of the sheet fed by the feeding portion, and a second guiding surface for guiding a second surface, opposite from the first surface, of the sheet fed from the reversing portion in the second direction. The second guiding surface is movable with movement of the first guiding surface for opening the second feeding passage.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus having a first container, a second container, an image forming device, a medium conveyer, a command acquiring device, and a controller, is provided. When a length of the medium to be conveyed is equal to or smaller than a first predetermined length, the controller controls the medium conveyer to convey the medium from the first container and the image forming device to perform an image forming operation on one of a first side and a second side of the medium, and, after the medium is accommodated in the second container in an orientation with the other of the first side and the second side to be used as the image-formable side, control the medium conveyer to convey the medium from the second container and control the image forming device to perform the image forming operation to the medium conveyed from the second container.
Recording device
A recording device includes a recording unit; an inverting path that inverts a medium that recording has been performed on and sends the medium back to the recording unit; a feeding roller an outer circumferential surface of which is in contact with the medium at both a first position in the inverting path before inverting the medium and a second position in the inverting path after inverting the medium; and a cleaning unit that cleans the outer circumferential surface of the feeding roller; in which the cleaning unit, before a contact portion on the outer circumferential surface of the feeding roller in contact with the medium at the first position reaches the second position with rotation of the feeding roller, is disposed at a position in contact with the contact portion.
Inkjet recording apparatus
An inkjet recording apparatus includes an image forming section, a roller, a heat source, a calculator, a determination section, and a controller. The determination section determines to activate the heat source when an ink ejection amount calculated by the calculator is larger than a specific reference amount. When the determination section determines to activate the heat source, the controller activates the heat source. When temperature of the roller is equal to or higher than a specific temperature, the controller controls the image forming section to form the image on the sheet.
INTERMEDIATE UNIT, POST PROCESSING DEVICE, AND PRINTING APPARATUS
An intermediate unit includes a transportation path along which a medium, on which printing has been performed by a printing unit that performs printing on the medium by using liquid, is transported to a post processing unit that performs post processing on the medium. The transportation path is provided with a drying unit that accelerates the drying of the medium. The drying unit is driven according to the printing data.
Image forming apparatus
The image forming apparatus includes: a printing section for conveying a sheet of paper; a reversal section for reversing top-and-back orientation of a sheet; and a control section for, based on an output of an image detection sensor resulting when a sheet has passed through a detection position for the first time, detecting whether or not a first surface is a blank surface, and moreover, based on an output of the image detection sensor resulting when the sheet subjected to reversal process has once again passed through the detection position, detecting whether or not a second surface is a blank surface, whereby the control section decides whether a sheet feed cassette is a back-sided sheet-containing cassette or a new sheet-containing cassette.
Image forming system
Disclosed herein is an image forming system enabling size reduction of apparatus. In the system, a sheet drying unit and a sheet post-processing unit are arranged, respectively above and below a sheet holding section to which sheets are ejected from an image forming apparatus A. Further, a relay transporting unit is provided, which is configured to transport a sheet from the sheet drying unit to a sheet post-processing unit. The relay transporting unit is formed, surrounding the sheet holding section.
