An image recording device is provided, having a recording unit configured to record an image on a sheet, and a tray disposed below the recording unit. The tray includes a sheet holding surface configured to hold the sheet. Additionally, the image recording device includes a sheet feeder disposed between the recording unit and the tray. The sheet feeder includes a roller for feeding the sheet from the tray. The roller is configured to move between a first roller position in which the roller contacts the sheet holding surface of the tray and a second roller position in which the roller is separated from the sheet holding surface. A return guide, disposed between the recording unit and the sheet feeder, defines a second conveying path to guide the sheet having an image recorded on one side thereof back to the feed guide. The return guide has a first opening configured to accommodate the roller of the sheet feeder when the roller is in the second roller position.
MEDIUM TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A medium transport device includes a transporting member, a medium offsetting member, a guide member, and an interlocking member. The transporting member transports a medium toward a medium accommodating member. The medium offsetting member moves the transporting member in a medium width direction to transport the medium to the medium accommodating member at positions shifted in the medium width direction. The guide member is located upstream of the transporting member in a medium transport direction. The guide member is movable between a first position, in which the guide member guides the medium toward the medium accommodating member, and a second position, in which the guide member guides the medium to a destination different from the medium accommodating member, to guide the medium. The interlocking member moves the guide member between the first position and the second position in conjunction with a movement of the medium offsetting member in a width direction of the medium offsetting member.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a switching member, a conveyance portion configured to convey the sheet, a driving motor configured to drive the conveyance portion, a transmission unit configured to cause the switching member to execute a pivot operation, and a control portion configured to control the driving motor and the transmission unit, wherein, in a case where the control portion conveys a first sheet in a job at a first conveyance speed by the conveyance portion and causes the switching member to execute the pivot operation, the control portion causes the switching member to execute the pivot operation at a second operating speed before the first sheet arrives at the switching member and the conveyance portion, and rotates the driving motor at a first rotational speed after the pivot operation has been executed and before the first sheet arrives at the conveyance portion.
Sheet conveying apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet conveying apparatus includes a storage portion to store a sheet, first and second stack portions, first and second conveyance paths to convey a sheet towards the first stack portion and the second stack portion, respectively, a first conveyance unit, a reverse path, and a second conveyance unit. The first conveyance unit is provided downstream of the first conveyance path and reverses and conveys a sheet conveyed to the first conveyance path. The reverse path conveys, once more to the first conveyance path, a sheet that has been reversed by the first conveyance unit. The second conveyance unit is provided in the second conveyance path and downstream of an intersection point between the second conveyance path and the reverse path. While conveying and reversing a sheet conveyed to the second conveyance path towards the reverse path, the second conveyance conveys the conveyed sheet towards the second stack portion.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a wall face of the apparatus body having an ejection opening from which a sheet conveyed in a first direction is ejected, a sheet support to support the sheet discharged from the discharge opening in the first direction, and a mount to mount the sheet support to the apparatus body. The mount includes an abutting portion including an abutting face that contacts a wall face of the apparatus body, and a projection projecting in a second direction opposite to the first direction from the abutting face. The abutting face extends in a vertically downward direction from the projection, and the projection is fixed to the apparatus body in a vertical direction.

Disclosed is a sheet conveying apparatus, including: a conveying member configured to convey a sheet; a plurality of changing portions successively provided downstream of the conveying member in a conveying direction of the sheet, the plurality of changing portions being configured to change the conveying direction of the sheet conveyed by the conveying member by curving the sheet; and a control portion configured to control a conveying speed of the sheet. The control portion controls a conveying speed of the sheet such that V1<V2 where V1 indicates a conveying speed of a sheet conveyed by the conveying member, a leading end of which sheet passes through a specific changing portion among the plurality of changing portions, and V2 indicates a conveying speed of a sheet conveyed without passing through the specific changing portion.

An image forming apparatus includes: an apparatus body including an image former that forms an image on a recording material; a covering part that is provided in the apparatus body and leaves an inside of the apparatus body open by being opened in an opening direction with respect to the apparatus body; a reversing unit that is housed by the apparatus body and discharges part of the recording material on which the image is formed by the image former externally of the apparatus body, and reverses a transport direction of the recording material; and a guiding unit that is provided adjacent to a downstream side of the covering part in the opening direction, guides the recording material discharged through the apparatus body by the reversing unit, and when the covering part is opened with respect to the apparatus body, the guiding unit moves relatively with respect to the covering part in an opposite direction of the opening direction.
