An image forming apparatus, including a main chassis having a discharge tray and a switchback tray in an upper position with respect to the discharge tray; an image forming unit; a discharge roller to discharge a recording sheet conveyed through the image forming unit onto the discharge tray; a duplex conveyer to invert the sheet and convey the inverted sheet to return to the image forming unit; and a switchback roller being rotatable in a normal direction to convey the sheet toward the switchback tray and a reverse direction to convey the sheet to the duplex conveyer; is provided. The main chassis includes a pair of walls, each of which extends in a vertical direction and in a conveying direction of the sheet and is arranged in adjacent to the switchback tray such that the switchback tray is interposed between the pair of walls.

There is provided a post processing device including a mounting portion on which a medium is temporarily mounted, a post processing unit that performs post processing on the medium mounted on the mounting portion, a discharging tray on which the medium is stacked after being discharged, and a suppressing unit that suppresses deformation of the medium mounted on the mounting portion.

A paper reversing apparatus includes a main conveyance path, a reversing path, first and second guiding plates and a hardware processor. The reversing path is disposed so as to form a predetermined angle with respect to the main conveyance path. Paper enters the reversing path from the main conveyance path and leaves the reversing path to the main conveyance path by being sent backward. When paper enters the reversing path, the processor moves the first guiding plate to a position for the paper to follow the first guiding plate and moves the second guiding plate to a position to avoid the paper. When paper leaves the reversing path, the processor moves the second guiding plate to a position for the paper to follow the second guiding plate and moves the first guiding plate to a position to avoid the paper.

An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a sheet includes an image forming unit, a first pair of rollers, a second pair of rollers, and a holder. The image forming unit is configured to form an image on a sheet. The first pair of rollers is configured to discharge the sheet out of the apparatus, the image having been formed on a first surface of the sheet by the image forming unit. The second pair of rollers is configured to convey the sheet again to the image forming unit to form an image on a second surface of the sheet opposite to the first surface. The holder is configured to hold one of the first pair of rollers and one of the second pair of rollers.

In one example, a system for a inline duplexer media path includes a first print media pathway extending from an input roller to an output roller, wherein the first print media pathway provides the print media through a print zone, and a second print media pathway extending from the output roller to the input roller, wherein the second print media pathway is substantially parallel and separate from the first print media pathway.

A medium, of which skew is appropriately corrected, is fed from an intermediate unit to a post processing unit so as to suppress an adverse effect of the skew of the medium in the post processing unit.

A first conveyance member reverses a sheet received from a first conveyance path. Second through fourth conveyance members are disposed on a second conveyance path and convey a sheet from the first conveyance member toward the first conveyance path. A restriction portion is capable of restricting driving force of a first driving source from acting on a sheet through the second conveyance member. A controller executes a first operation and a second operation. In the first operation, a second driving source stops driving the third and fourth conveyance members while a first sheet being nipped at the fourth conveyance member, and a second sheet is conveyed to be abutted with the third conveyance member. In the second operation, the second driving source starts driving the third and fourth conveyance members while the restriction portion restricting driving force of the first driving source from acting on the second sheet.

A moving-side roller reliably separates from a stationary-side roller so as to enable appropriate document transport. A contact state and a separation state can be switched.
