A method for performing mold remediation includes placing a ferromagnetic material in or adjacent to a surface upon which mold is located. The method also includes emitting, by an electromagnetic radiation source, radiation to heat the ferromagnetic material that is adjacent to the surface upon which the mold is located. The method also includes detecting, by a temperature sensor, a temperature of the surface. The method further includes comparing, by a processor in communication with the electromagnetic radiation source and the temperature sensor, the temperature of the surface to a desired temperature to perform mold remediation.

An insect vacuum and trap attachment system can include a tubular member having an elongate channel that extends along an outer surface of the tubular member. The system can also include a suction member that slideably receives the tubular member. The suction member can have a narrowed open tip that receives insects and a stem that extends along at least an outer surface of the suction member. The stem can be slideably received by the elongate channel to enable the suction member to slide with respect to the tubular member. The system can include a catch that protrudes from the stem. The catch may be arranged and configured to receive a portion of an insect filter pod and thereby couple the insect filter pod between the tubular member and the suction member.

A device for trapping damaging flying insects, including a device for diffusing an attractive gaseous cocktail, of which the composition is suitable for attracting insects, a suctioning device having an orifice for suctioning an air flow containing the insects attracted by the attractive cocktail diffused, a trap arranged with the suctioning device, and a chassis containing a gas source, which gas is a component of the attractive gaseous cocktail, where the optical insect counter includes a series of parallel deflectors installed through the suctioning orifice, a luminous barrier composed of a light transmitter and a light receiver being installed in each interval between said deflectors.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RECORDING AND/OR MONITORING POPULATIONS OF INSECTS
20200367483 · 2020-11-26 · ·

Disclosed are a system (10) and a method used for the detection and/or monitoring of insect populations (16), in which insects (16) of at least one defined genus are attracted, at least temporarily retained within a defined compartment (12), and sensed and/or analyzed with regard to definable features (14). The invention comprises: features or method steps, as appropriate: attracting the defined genus of insects (16) within a definable spatial vicinity (20) with an attracting stimuli (22); transferring the attracted insects (16) into a defined compartment interior (12) while preventing, at least for a definable time interval, an inadvertent escape, at least of a large number of the insects (16); detecting specific features (14) of the insects (16) with a sensor unit (26); transmitting sensor signals (30) supplied by the sensor unit (26) to an electronic analysis device and/or evaluation device (28) disposed downstream from the sensor unit (26).

A method of analyzing shipments of goods includes receiving, by a transceiver of a shipment analysis system, a heat map template, where the heat map template is an expected heat map for a plurality of packages in a shipment. The method also includes directing electromagnetic radiation from an electromagnetic radiation source to the package to heat any ferromagnetic material in or on a package. The method also includes generating, by a processor of the shipment analysis system, a heat map based on the heating of any ferromagnetic material in or on the package. The method further includes generating, by the processor, an alert responsive to a determination that the generated heat map does not match the heat map template. The alert indicates that the package is not one of the plurality of packages in the shipment.
