Splicing device for web materials, unwinder including the splicing device, and operating method
The splicing device for splicing a trailing edge of a first web material to a leading edge of a second web material includes members defining a feed path of the web material. The device also includes a first cutting member and a second cutting member, cooperating with the first cutting member. One of the two cutting members is provided with a movement transverse to the feed path of the web material, to move the cutting member from an operating position, in which it is in front of the other cutting member, to an idle position, withdrawn with respect to the feed path of the web material.

A tape applicator including a housing and an adjustment mechanism. The housing partially defines a cavity. The adjustment mechanism includes a course and an adjustment plate. The course includes a plurality of positions. The adjustment plate is movable along the course among the plurality of positions. The adjustment plate is held in a selected position of the plurality of positions by the housing based on a size of a tape roll configured to be supported in the cavity.

A roll dispenser is arranged to support a roll of packaging material, and includes a chuck assembly with a first chuck unit that includes a first plug received in a first axial end of a core of the roll, a first shaft fixed to the first plug, a first mount brought into engagement with the first shaft, and a first brake connected to the first plug and the first mount to establish friction between the first plug and the first mount. A first handle assembly may adjust a first compressive force applied axially between the first mount and the first shaft to regulate the friction between the first plug and the first mount. The chuck assembly also may include a second chuck unit received in a second axial end of the core for additionally supporting the roll of packaging material.
Surface rewinder with center assist and belt and winding drum forming a winding nest
A rewinding machine winds a web material into a log about a core. The web material to be wound is directed about a rotating winding drum. A continuous loop is spaced from the winding drum and with the winding drum defines a nip through which the core is inserted and through which the web material is directed. A surface of the continuous loop opposite the winding drum across the nip is configured to move in a direction generally opposite of the winding drum for winding the web material about the core. A rider roll defines a winding space with the winding drum and the continuous loop. The rider roll is movable relative to the continuous loop and the winding drum to allow for an increase in a diameter of the log in the winding space during winding of the web material about the core.

Stretch film dispenser with moving device
A stretch film dispenser with a moving device includes a frame. The frame includes a bottom seat and a coupling seat. A tubular member is connected between the bottom seat and the coupling seat. The tubular member is provided with a telescopic rod. The bottom seat is provided with a moving unit. A bottom surface of the moving unit is provided with at least two first moving members. When in use, the telescopic rod is pulled to a height suitable for holding, and then the user holds the telescopic rod to pull the stretch film dispenser. The stretch film dispenser can be moved through the moving unit, thereby achieving the effect of moving the stretch film dispenser easily and conveniently.
Safety chuck
A safety chuck mounted to equipment that process web material is provided. The safety chuck is provided with a die spring connecting a moveable jaw with a spindle, said spring urging the moveable jaw into a fully closed position. A number of magnets mounted on a mounting flange will engage the moveable jaw, overcoming the spring's force and holding the moveable jaw in a fully open position. Rotation of the spindle releases the magnets allowing the spring to force the moveable jaw back into a fully closed position.
