Tail sealing apparatus

A nonadhesive phase-change material application apparatus for bonding the tail of a convolutely wound log to the body is provided. The nonadhesive phase-change material application apparatus has at least one nonadhesive phase-change material applicator that defines a cavity conveying a volume of nonadhesive phase-change material from a reservoir to an application site.

Methods and systems for converting and packaging coreless paper products

A method of converting a plurality of coreless roll products includes providing a first support structure and winding a paper product around the first support structure. The method also includes cutting through the paper product and the first support structure to form a plurality of cut portions of the paper product each wound around a cut portion of the first support structure. The method further includes removing the cut portion of the first support structure from each of the cut portions of the paper product to form a plurality of coreless roll products each comprising a center aperture. A method of preparing a coreless roll product for storage or shipment includes providing a coreless roll product comprising a center aperture and inserting a temporary support device into the center aperture of the coreless roll product. The method also includes expanding the temporary support device to approximate dimensions of the center aperture, wherein the temporary support device is configured to reduce deformation of the center aperture during storage or shipment.

Non-uniform tail sealing and methods thereof

A method for bonding the tail of a convolutely wound log to the body is provided. The method comprises the use of a bonding material to bond the tail to the wound log. The bonding material may be applied to application sites arranged in a non-uniform pattern.

Provided are an electrolytic cathode structure that can suppress the degradation of an activated cathode even if a reverse current flows upon the stoppage of operation of an electrolyzer in an electrode structure allowing the distance between the electrode and an electrode current collector to be maintained at an approximately constant value, and an electrolyzer using the same. The electrolytic cathode structure includes a metal elastic cushion member 1 compressed and accommodated between an activated cathode 2 and a cathode current collector 3. At least a surface layer of the cathode current collector 3 consumes a larger oxidation current per unit area than the activated cathode. The electrolyzer is partitioned by an ion exchange membrane into an anode chamber for accommodating an anode and a cathode chamber for accommodating a cathode. The electrolytic cathode structure is used for the cathode.

A method for manufacturing a marked toilet paper roll by winding a sheet of wide toilet paper a predetermined length about a winding shaft to form a log roll and by cutting the log roll at a predetermined width into a plurality of toilet paper rolls, the method including marking stamps at intervals, each interval of the predetermined width, on an end portion of a winding end of the log roll before the log roll is cut into the toilet paper rolls.

A SHEET OF ABSORBENT MATERIAL, ROLL, LOG AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A sheet of absorbent material having opposite sheet side edges spaced apart from one another to define an overall width of the absorbent sheet, the sheet of absorbent material including zones of weakness spaced along the sheet of absorbent material according to a machine direction, each zone of weakness extending substantially transversally to said machine direction, each zone of weakness defining two adjacent individual absorbent sheet portions, each zone of weakness being a tear line. The tear line comprises two edge regions and a central region, a first edge region beginning at one of the sheet side edges towards the central region, a second edge region beginning at the other sheet side edges towards the central region, the central region including alternating perforated segments and unperforated segments. The edge regions are unperforated so as to constitute attachment areas within the tear line between two adjacent individual absorbent sheet portions.
