Method and apparatus for arranging sheets in a shingled position
The invention relates to a method and a device for arranging sheets in an overlapping position in a transfer unit arranged between a first processing station and a second processing station following the first processing station in a transport direction of the sheets. The sheets to be overlapped are transported from the first processing station to the transfer unit, in a transport plane and each individually lying behind one another. A respective rear, in the transport direction, edge of the sheets coming from the first processing station, is raised relative to the transport plane exclusively by the use of blown air, and a second subsequent sheet is slid under the rear edge of the respective preceding first sheet.

Device and method for conveying flat objects
A device for conveying and transferring flexible, flat objects with a gripper conveyor including a plurality of grippers that are movable along a conveying path in a conveying direction, and further with a conveying-way device that forms a conveying rest that, in a transfer region, is arranged below the conveying path such that objects that are released from grippers in the transfer region are deposited onto the conveying rest. The device includes a pressing circulatory device that acts upon the transfer region and has a plurality of outwardly directed pressing arms. The pressing circulatory device is designed, in the transfer region, to press the objects to be transferred with the pressing arms onto the conveying rest such that the objects can be deposited onto the conveying rest in a guided and controlled manner.

PRINTING PRESS ASSEMBLY HAVING A PLURALITY OF PROCESSING STATIONS FOR PROCESSING SHEETS AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE PRINTING PRESS ASSEMBLY
A printing press arrangement has a plurality of processing stations for processing sheets. The plurality of processing stations are arranged one after another in a transport direction of the sheets for in-line processing of the sheets. At least one of the processing stations is configured as a non-impact printing device. A transfer device, which is arranged upstream of the active region of the non-impact printing device, is provided for transferring the sheets from a first processing station, which is arranged upstream of the non-impact printing device, to the non-impact printing device. The transfer device aligns, in each case, at least one of the axial register and the circumferential register and the diagonal register of each of the sheets in register relative to the printing position of the non-impact printing device.

SHEET STACKING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet stacking apparatus includes a stacking portion, a conveyance member, an abutment portion, a belt member having elasticity and configured to move the sheet toward the abutment portion, a driving source, and a controller configured to control the driving source such that (i) the belt member rotates at a first speed after the belt member contacts the current sheet and before the leading edge of the current sheet abuts against the abutment portion, and (ii) a rotational speed of the belt member is set at a second speed slower than the first speed in at least a part of a period of time after the leading edge of the current sheet abuts against the abutment portion and before the belt member contacts the next sheet.
SHEET STACKING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet stacking apparatus includes a stacking portion, a conveyance member, an abutment portion, a belt member, a nipping portion configured to nip the belt member, a lifting/lowering unit configured to lift and lower the nipping portion, and a controller configured to control the lifting/lowering unit such that, in a case where the belt member moves a current sheet and then moves a next sheet, (i) the nipping portion is positioned at the first position after the belt member contacts the current sheet and before the leading edge of the current sheet abuts against the abutment portion, and (ii) the nipping portion is positioned at the second position after the leading edge of the current sheet abuts against the abutment portion and before the belt member contacts the next sheet.
