A separation device is usable for separating portions of a material web. The separation device has at least one front clamping device, with at least one front clamping point, and at least one rear clamping device, with at least one rear clamping point, and at least one first stretching element. The separation device can be switched between at least one traversing mode and at least one separation mode by the movement of at least the at least one first stretching device between at least one first traversing position and at least one first separation position. A transport line is the shortest connection between the at least one front clamping point and the at least one rear clamping point, that connection line completely on a vertical reference plane and traversing or running at a tangent to any component of the separation device on the respective same side as one of a transport path provided for the material web and the portions to be separated. The transport line, in the at least one separation mode, is 2 mm longer than in the at least one traversing mode and has the smallest radius of curvature in the at least one separation mode of at least 0.05 mm. A first reference plane and a second reference plane are mutually spaced apart in an axial direction and a first transport line, lying on the first reference plane, and a second transport line, lying on the second reference plane, have different lengths when the first stretching element is located in the at least one first separation position.
Method and device for successively winding a film web, and film roll
The invention relates to a method for successively winding a film web onto a plurality of spools, wherein the film web is wound to form a first spool, and a tube and/or winding shaft for forming a subsequent second spool and the film web are moved closer to one another and/or are brought into contact with one another upstream of the first spool. The film web is cut, and thus an end of the film web is produced, with end is wound onto the first spool, and a new start of the file web is produced, which is wound onto the second tube. In order to cut the film web, the film web is cut partially in the transverse direction, at least one cut edge and at least one uncut region remaining in the transverse direction, the uncut region being subsequently torn off or cut off.
Delivering foil leaves of selected lengths from an indeterminate length of foil
Apparatus and method deliver consecutive foil leaves of a selected length from a supply of foil of indeterminate length. An actuator system maintains a cutter at an elevation above a shearing blade, and then releases the cutter, in response to a sensor sensing that a selected length of foil has been delivered, so that the cutter, biased by gravity, drops to shear a foil leaf of selected length from the indeterminate length of foil. Subsequently, the actuator system returns the cutter to the elevation above the shearing blade where the cutter is maintained in readiness for a next-consecutive shearing operation.
MACHINE CONFIGURED TO PRODUCE STACKS OF FOLDED WIPES
A machine to produce stacks of folded pop-up wipes from material that is threaded along a path having a direction through the machine. The machine includes a holder, a first tension unit, a perforation unit to generate perforations in the material in a direction orthogonal to the direction of the path, and a folding unit to fold the material in a direction orthogonal to the direction of the path. The material is threaded along a path through the machine via the first tension unit, the perforation unit and the folding unit. A control unit controls the machine to produce folded pop-up wipes by individually controlling tension of material along one or more sections of the path and to increase tension of the material in a section of the path located after the perforation unit to stretch a generated perforation in the section of the path by a target distance.
Adhesive paperband composite for turn up procedure
Methods and apparatus to form tear-off paperband composites that adhesively attach a paper web to an empty web spool. In some embodiments, the paperband composite is applied in several layers to an empty web spool, each layer suitable for fixedly attaching a paper web to the empty spool. Multiple layers of paperband composite allow for use during multiple turn-up procedures with one layer of paperband composite used per turn-up procedure. In some examples, the paperband composite may be applied to a paper spool tangentially along the spool face and perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the spool. In other examples, the paperband composite may be spirally wrapped around the paper spool.

MEDIUM CUTTING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A medium cutting device for cutting a continuous medium includes a sandwiching part to sandwich the medium wherein the medium is sandwiched at a sandwiching spot, a cutting blade provided with an edge at its tip for cutting the medium, and a contact part including a convex contact surface that is positioned on an opposite side from the sandwiching part with respect to the edge such that the contact surface is configured to contact the medium when the medium is pulled toward the contact part wherein a spot on the contact surface of which a tangent line passes through the sandwiching spot is defined as a first contact spot (X1). Wherein when an imaginary straight line that connects the sandwiching spot and the first contact spot is defined as a first tangent line (TL1), at least a portion of the edge is positioned on a side at which the contact part is present with respect to the first tangent line.

LAMINATION MACHINE AND A METHOD FOR LAMINATING AT LEAST ONE MATERIAL
A lamination machine has at least one material source which is in the form of a sheet feeder for material to be laminated. The lamination machine has at least one lamination unit that includes at least one first lamination source for laminating material, the at least one first lamination source being configured as a first roll changer and having at least two first roll holding devices.
Sheet processing apparatus and image forming system
A first motor causes a first conveying roller pair to rotate, and a second motor causes a second conveying roller pair and an aligning rotational member to rotate. A control portion temporarily stops the first motor each time a sheet member reaches a position at which the sheet member is subjected to punching. Each time the sheet member reaches the position at which the sheet member is subjected to punching, the control portion continuously operates the second motor if the sheet member unreaches a position at which the sheet member is nipped by the second conveying roller pair, and otherwise temporarily stops the second motor.
