A sheet regulating portion includes a body portion including a regulating surface facing an edge of a sheet, a pressing member having a pressing portion capable of projecting out of the body portion, an upper portion formed integrally with an upper part of the pressing portion so as to project to a sheet side and regulating an upward move of the sheet, and an urging member to urge the pressing member so that the pressing portion presses the edge of the sheet. In addition, a holding portion holds the pressing portion movably from a projecting position where the pressing portion projects out of the body portion to a retracting position where the upper portion enters within the body portion while inclining the pressing portion with respect to the regulating surface by resisting against the urging member when the upper portion is pressed from above.

The side cursors (37F, 37R) each has an abutment wall (71F, 71R) abutting on a side surface of the sheet and a recess (79) externally fitted to the shaft (61) from above, and the recess (79) slides on the shaft (61) when the side cursors (37F, 37R) move in the width direction.

To effectively correct a sheet that is transported while being skewed, a post-processing apparatus B provided with a processing tray 25 that temporarily stores a sheet to perform post-processing and a stack tray 30 that loads sheets subjected to the post-processing performs preliminary alignment with one of an alignment mechanism 35 on the processing tray 25 side and an alignment mechanism 38 on the stack tray 30 side corresponding to size information of a sheet in transporting the sheet from the stack tray 30 side toward the processing tray 25 for post-processing in a post-processing device 31, and takes in the sheet toward a regulation stopper 29 with a take-in roller 33. Then, after aligning the sheet with the alignment mechanism 35, the apparatus performs the post-processing on the sheet with the sheet post-processing device 31 to transport to the stack tray 30.
