A stacking apparatus is provided with a stacking member that stacks a sheet as a recording medium that is discharged from a recording apparatus such that the sheet hangs on the stacking member, a guiding part that guides the sheet down to a point lower than a top of the stacking member, and an urging unit that controls movement of the sheet.

An apparatus is provided for positioning a substrate on a support body. The apparatus comprises the support body for supporting the substrate, at least one registration element, wherein said at least one registration element is positioned and arranged for registering the substrate in a preselected position on the support body when brought into a registering state. The apparatus further comprises a registration actuator movably arranged with respect to the support body for selectively arranging a registration element into the registering state.

A printer includes a printing unit that performs printing on a printing medium; a winding unit that winds the printing medium on which the printing is performed by the printing unit; and a frame unit which is positioned between the printing unit and the winding unit on a feeding path of the printing medium, in which in a case where the printing medium is not wound by the winding unit, a receiving member for receiving the printing medium is detachably mounted to the frame unit, and in a case where the printing medium is wound by the winding unit, the receiving member is detached such that the frame unit comes in contact with the printing medium.

A sheet storage apparatus and a printing apparatus include simplified mechanisms for supporting a sheet and for guiding the sheet. A sheet storage device that can store a sheet discharged from a discharge port of a printing apparatus includes multiple flappers provided below the discharge port and arranged in a width direction of the sheet, each flapper being rotatable between a first posture in which the sheet discharged from the discharge port is guided downward in a gravitational direction by using a first surface, and a second posture in which the sheet is supported by using a second surface being different from the first surface; and a connecting unit which connects the plurality of flappers to one another.

A printing apparatus includes a stacking portion on which a print medium printed by a printing unit configured to perform printing is stacked, a discharge unit configured to discharge the print medium printed by the printing unit to the stacking portion, a passage forming portion arranged facing the stacking portion and configured to form a discharge passage of the print medium together with the stacking portion, and an outlet port located at a downstream end of the stacking portion and a downstream end of the passage forming portion in a conveying direction of the print medium. The passage forming portion includes an opening/closing portion which is displaceable between a closed position for forming the discharge passage and an open position for opening access to the stacking portion.

A reception apparatus that receives an article discharged from a processing apparatus includes a first rod, a second rod, a reception sheet and two side rods. The reception sheet has flexibility, is supported by the first rod and the second rod and receives the article between the first rod and the second rod. The two side rods can rotate, extend and contract independently from each other with respect to the processing apparatus while respectively supporting both end portions of the second rod.

A sheet feeder, which is included in an image forming apparatus, includes a pair of first regulators and a pair of second regulators. The pair of first regulators is disposed movable in a width direction of a recording medium loaded on the sheet loader and is configured to contact a side end of the recording medium and regulate a position of the recording medium in the width direction. The pair of second regulators is configured to be detachably attachable to multiple attachment positions of the sheet tray selectably.

A sheet feeder device that stores and sends out a transfer medium includes: a sheet feeder device main unit having an opening formed at an upper portion and including an upstream partial lid located on an upstream side and a downstream partial lid located on a downstream side, the upstream partial lid and the downstream partial lid covering at least part of the opening; a sheet feed tray provided in the sheet feeder device main unit, the transfer medium being loaded onto the sheet feed tray; an elevating unit configured to lift up and down the sheet feed tray; and a control unit configured to control the lifting up and down of the sheet feed tray, wherein the control unit senses opening and closing of the upstream partial lid and the downstream partial lid, and controls the lifting up and down being performed by the elevating unit.

An apparatus is provided for positioning a substrate on a support body. The apparatus comprises the support body for supporting the substrate, at least one registration element, wherein said at least one registration element is positioned and arranged for registering the substrate in a preselected position on the support body when brought into a registering state. The apparatus further comprises a registration actuator movably arranged with respect to the support body for selectively arranging a registration element into the registering state.

An image-forming apparatus contains an external feeding tray on which a sheet is put, and a feeding roller and a sheet feeder that feed the sheet from the external feeding tray. A controller of the image-forming apparatus sets a first conveying speed and a second conveying speed that is slower than the first conveying speed, controls the sheet feeder to convey a second sheet, which has a longer length along a conveying direction thereof than the length of the external feeding tray, at the second conveying speed when the controller determines that a rear end of the second sheet projects from the external feeding tray, and hangs down from the external feeding tray based on the sheet information and controls a first sheet, which has a shorter length along a conveying direction thereof than the length of the external feeding tray, at the first conveying speed.
