A sheet discharge apparatus includes a sheet stacking portion on which a sheet discharged by a discharging portion is stacked, and a control portion configured to control a moving unit such that a height position of an uppermost sheet stacked on the sheet stacking portion becomes a first height position. In a case where a sheet detection portion detects that the height position of the uppermost sheet is above a second height position, the control portion sets a sheet discharge speed of the discharging portion to a first sheet discharge speed. In a case where the sheet detection portion detects that the height position of the uppermost sheet becomes lower than the second height position, the control portion controls the sheet discharge speed to be a second sheet discharge speed faster than the first sheet discharge speed.

A post-processing device includes a processing stacking portion that allows media to be stacked thereon; a binding member that performs a binding process on the media; a medium ejection portion on which the media ejected from the processing stacking portion are stacked and which moves upward and downward; and a pressing member that presses an upper surface of the media on the medium ejection portion. When media that have not been subjected to the binding process are stacked on the medium ejection portion, the pressing member and the media are brought into contact with each other. When media that have been subjected to the binding process are stacked on the medium ejection portion, the pressing member and the media are disposed further away from each other than when media that have not been subjected to the binding process are stacked on the medium ejection portion.

The second sheet is conveyed toward the end regulation member by the conveyance roller pair in the state in which the leading edge of the preceding sheet is in contact with the end regulation member.

At least one of the first support member and the second support member is capable of moving between a first position that supports the sheet and a second position that does not support the sheet, and a length of the first support member is shorter than a length of the second support member in the sheet conveying direction.

The pressing member presses down a sheet discharged onto the discharge tray. The pressing member has an arm portion which rotates in the sheet conveyance direction about a rotation fulcrum, and a roller which is attached to the arm portion to be rotatable in the sheet width direction, and the pressing member is selectively disposed in a first position where the roller presses down the upstream-side end part of a sheet discharged onto the discharge tray, or in a second position where the roller contacts a lower surface of a sheet on the processing tray.
