SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet processing apparatus performs folding processing so that one end of a sheet exists inside the folded sheet. The sheet processing apparatus includes a transport path to guide a transported sheet, a rotating body pair capable of transporting the sheet in a first direction to perform folding processing, and in a second direction for switching back the sheet subjected to the folding processing, a folding blade that pushes the sheet to a nip portion of the rotating body pair, a press member that presses the sheet folded by the rotating body pair in the second direction, and a shift section that shifts the press member for pressing the sheet. In switching back the sheet, a control section controls transport of the sheet so that the one end of the sheet is halted within a region between the press member and a guide face of the transport path.
SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet processing apparatus includes a transport path to guide a sheet transported in a predetermined transport direction, a rotating body pair capable of transporting the sheet in a first direction for nipping the sheet transported to the transport path thereby drawing the sheet to perform folding processing, and in a second direction for switching back the sheet to return to one direction side in the transport direction, a press member for pressing the sheet folded by the rotating body pair in the second direction, and a support portion for supporting the press member, where the support portion is disposed on the side opposite to the rotating body pair with the transport path therebetween and on the other direction side opposite to the one direction side in the transport direction with a nip line for connecting between the nip portion and a front end portion of the folding blade therebetween.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HEAT ASSISTED SADDLE FINISHER FOLDING
A system and method for assembling booklets in document finishers such as saddle staplers includes first and second opposed rollers configured to receive an edge of a stapled crease of a stack of printed documents. The rollers apply both heat and pressure to the crease to form a tight fold. A second set of rollers provides further heat and pressure to the fold to increase tightness even further. Pressure and temperature of one or both roller sets is controllable to accommodate paper stacks having different numbers of pages or different paper characteristics.
Sheet binding processing apparatus and image forming system having the same
A sheet binding processing apparatus includes a transport section transporting a bunch of sheets in a transport direction, a sheet discharge outlet to discharge the bunch of sheets transported from the transport section, a placement section to place the bunch of sheets discharged from the discharge outlet, a manual set section enabling a bunch of sheets inserted in a direction different from the transport direction to be set, a press member pressing the bunch of sheets placed on the placement section or on the manual set section to bind, a drive section applying a pressing force to the press member, and a control section controlling the drive section to make the pressing force applied to a binding member higher in the case of binding the bunch of sheets placed on the placement section than in the case of binding the bunch of sheets set from the manual set section.
Fold-enforcing assembly, post-processing apparatus, and image forming system
A fold-enforcing assembly includes a fold-enforcing device, a moving device to move the fold-enforcing device in a direction of a fold of a sheet bundle, and control circuitry. The fold-enforcing device includes a pressing member pair to nip and press the fold of the sheet bundle in a direction of thickness, a pressing mechanism to pressurize and depressurize the pressing member pair, and a driver to drive the pressing mechanism. Controlled by the control circuitry, the moving device moves the fold-enforcing device in accordance with a size of the sheet bundle in the direction of the fold; pressing mechanism pressurizes the pressing member pair to press a first end portion of the sheet bundle in the direction of the fold; the moving device moves the fold-enforcing device to a second end portion of the sheet bundle; and pressing mechanism depressurizes the pressing member pair in the second end portion.
POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND POST-PROCESSING METHOD
Provided are a post-processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus, and a post-processing method capable of avoiding the occurrence of a malfunction due to a failure to discharge a sheet bundle after a binding process. A plurality of sheets is loaded on a stack tray. A staple unit binds the plurality of sheets. A discharge roller discharges the sheet bundle bound by the staple unit from the stack tray. Each time a sheet is conveyed to the stack tray, an aligning unit moves between a first position in contact with the sheet loaded on the stack tray and a second position separating from the sheet. A detection processing unit detects a failure of discharging the sheet bundle by the discharging roller. A stop processing unit can stop the operation of the aligning unit when the discharge failure is detected by the detection processing unit.
MEDIUM TRANSPORTING APPARATUS, PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING SYSTEM
A medium transporting apparatus includes a mounting portion configured to mount a medium, and a pressing portion configured to switch between a first state for pressing the medium against the mounting portion and a second state for releasing the medium. The pressing portion takes the first state in waiting for the medium to the mounting portion, switches to the second state in response to the sent medium and returns to the first state after the medium is sent to the mounting portion. When the last medium is mounted on the mounting portion, a timing at which the pressing portion returns to the first state from the second state is delayed with respect to the timing of the return therebefore.
MEDIA PROCESSING APPARATUS AND RECORDING APPARATUS
A media processing apparatus includes a media transporter, a stacking portion on which media are stacked, a binding processing portion that binds an upstream end portion of a media bundle, a pair of ejection rollers that eject the media bundle, and a displacement mechanism that displaces a first roller of the pair of ejection rollers to a nipping position at which the media bundle is nipped and a separated position at which the first roller is separated from the media bundle, in which, when the media bundle, the upstream end portion of which is closed, is to be ejected from the stacking portion, the first roller is disposed in the nipping position and ejection of the media bundle is started, the first roller is displaced to the separated position during ejection of the media bundle, and, thereafter, the first roller is disposed again at the nipping position.
MEDIUM DISCHARGE DEVICE, MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING SYSTEM
A medium discharge includes a first tray having a first medium receiving surface, a second tray having a second medium receiving surface for receiving the medium discharged from the first tray, a discharge section that discharges the medium disposed on the first tray to the second tray, and a push-down portion that is located downstream of a downstream end of the first medium receiving surface in the medium discharge direction, and that is located at a place deviated from the discharge section in a width direction that is a direction intersecting with the medium discharge direction, and pushes down a part of an upstream end of the medium to be discharged in the medium discharge direction.
Medium discharging device
A medium discharging device includes a paper discharging tray that is disposed below a height position of a discharging roller which discharges a medium and includes a placing surface on which the medium discharged by the discharging roller is placed, and a supporting member that is configured to be movable between a retreat position on an upstream side and an advance position on a downstream side between the discharging roller and the placing surface.
