Hands off monopile hoisting tool

A tool and method for hoisting an longitudinal end of an offshore wind turbine component which is in a horizontal orientation. The tool is after being attached to a lifting block to be moved into a proximate position in which gripping members of the tool are longitudinally spaced from the longitudinal end but the radial contour of the tool at least overlaps with the radial contour of the longitudinal end. While the gripping members are in a retracted position guiding actuators can move the tool from the proximate position into a gripping position longitudinally aligned with the longitudinal end in which the gripping members are movable to engage said surface of the longitudinal end, thereby connecting the longitudinal end to the tool and suspending the longitudinal end from the lifting block so that the longitudinal end can consequently be hoisted.

Clamp system, gripping device therefore and method of using the clamp system

In a clamp system for a slender object (16), such as a pile or pipe and the like, a clamp (1) and the object are to be applied around one another. The clamp has a frame (4) defining an axial direction. Furthermore, gripping devices (3) are provided which are spaced in circumferential direction of the frame (4). A stop (25) defines an end position of the gripping device (3), the gripping device (3) in gripping state and positioned in the end position prevents the object (16) from displacing with respect to the frame (4) in a first axial direction of the passage (9), in which first axial direction the gripping device (3) is held pressed against the stop (25), and the gripping device (3) allowing the object (16) to displace with respect to the frame in the second axial direction opposite the first axial direction.

Some illustrative embodiments of a fire tube implement for extraction and insertion of a fire tube may include an elongate shaft that is configured to extend outward and to be received within an opening in the fire tube. In some embodiments, the elongate shaft may carry at least one extender that is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position normal to a longitudinal axis of the elongate shaft. The at least one extender may be configured to engage an internal surface of the fire tube within the opening when the at least one extender is in the extended position. In some embodiments, a stabilizer may be laterally disposed from an exterior surface of the elongate shaft and securable to the fire tube. The elongate shaft may be operable by a powered machine.

An implement is disclosed for use in moving a fire tube in relation to a heat treater. The disclosed implement includes a frame extending along a first axis, a shaft extending from the frame along a second axis, and a stabilizer extending from the frame that is configured to inhibit rotation of the fire tube when the implement is employed to move the fire tube.

HANDLING AND RECOVERY DEVICES FOR TUBULAR MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
20170089152 · 2017-03-30 ·

Implementations described herein include a hoisting device and method for handling, coupling and recovery of tubular members such as drill string components. The hoisting device has a self-energizing gripping means configued to releasably engage a drill string component. In one aspect, the self-energizing gripping means can be operable to increase at least one of a radial biasing force and a contact friction force applied to a drill string component, causing the gripping means to increase the overall gripping force applied to the component with minimal effort exerted by a hoisting device operator.
