ARTHROPOD TRAP AND EXTERMINATION METHOD
20210400945 · 2021-12-30 ·

The present disclosure describes an apparatus, system, and method for trapping and exterminating arthropods, particularly red mites. The apparatus includes an opaque housing and a heat strip configured to have separate temperature zones. The method includes warming the heat strip to lure the mites into the trap, heating outer heat strip segments to drive the mites toward the center of the trap, and then raising the entire heat strip to a temperature sufficient to exterminate the mites. The system includes placing one or more of the traps in animal hold structures, including nesting boxes in poultry houses.

Volatile composition dispenser with increased membrane exposure and volatile composition weight loss

A volatile composition dispenser includes a housing having opposing first and second walls that are joined along their peripheries to one another. The first wall has an aperture and the second wall has a plurality of apertures. Within the housing, rests a volatile composition cartridge and a gap, which exists between the cartridge and a bottom surface of the housing, wherein said bottom surface is formed from a joinder of a base portion of one or both of the first and second walls, and wherein, upon activation, the exposure percentage of the dispenser is from about 40% to about 90%; wherein at least about 60% of the total surface area of the plurality of apertures results from individual apertures of said plurality that each have an area of at least 30 mm.sup.2 and an aspect ratio of at least about 1:2. Dispenser of a similar housing, cartridge, and gap when is activated by a user and thirty days after said activation, exhibits about 70% to 90% weight loss of said volatile composition of a partially exposed membrane of a fully exposed membrane.

INSECT ATTRACTANT AND KILLING SYSTEM

Described herein are systems and methods for attracting insects to a trap or surface containing insecticide. One embodiment described herein is an insect attractant releasing system comprising a quantity of a volatile insect attractant where the attractant is released at a defined rate and has a particular product lifetime under field conditions. In another embodiment, the attractant releasing system is integrated into an apparatus having insecticide immobilized on one or more surfaces where attracted insects can crawl or land and contact the insecticide, which subsequently kills the insects.

INSECT TRAP WITH COMPOUND BAIT
20210368765 · 2021-12-02 ·

Insect trap comprising a container divided into at least two internal cavities where the first cavity houses a first solid or semi-solid bait with a toxic substance and the second cavity houses a second much more volatile bait comprising an attractant and volatile substance impregnated in a holder where both baits act in a coordinated manner, since the more volatile substance disperses the attractant substance such as water vapor, causing the insects to enter the trap and easily access the first bait.

Dispensers and methods of use thereof for dispensing solid mosquito larvicides and other materials of interest

Dispenser devices suitable for use on unmanned aerial vehicles are described having utility for dispensing solid larvicides to difficult to reach insect habitats.

PEST CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE THEREOF
20220192171 · 2022-06-23 ·

In an aspect, a pest control system is provided, and includes at least one monitoring device and a control system. The at least one monitoring devices includes sensing circuitry, communication circuitry and a plurality of possible states which correspond to a plurality of actions of a target species. The sensing circuitry detects states from the plurality of possible states and the communication circuitry transmits at least one dataset relating to the detected states. The control system includes at least one processor and at least one memory, where the memory stores the at least one dataset transmitted from the at least one monitoring device as a stored dataset and the memory has instructions stored therein which are executable by the at least one processor for identifying a change in the actions of the target species of pest based on the at least one stored dataset.

DISPENSER FOR DISPENSING VOLATILE COMPOSITIONS

A volatile composition dispenser is configured to be used in a vehicle. The volatile composition dispenser comprises a housing and a fan positioned at least partially within the housing. The fan is configured to intermittently activate to move a volume of air. The volatile composition dispenser further comprises a controller in electrical communication with the fan and positioned within the housing, and a replaceable unit configured to be attached to the housing and positioned at least partially within the housing.

MOSQUITO CONTROL

A method of controlling mosquito populations is disclosed. The method includes: placing a plurality of ovitraps into an area where it is desired to reduce a mosquito population; filling the ovitraps with water; introducing a defined larvicidal amount of a water conditioning agent comprising cow urine into a given volume of water into the ovitraps to condition the water absent of a separate or additional pesticide; leaving the conditioned water for at least 7 weeks; and monitoring at least one of the ovitrap and the area to determine effectiveness.

Composite material including a thermoplastic polymer, a pest food material, and a pesticide

Composite materials that are palatable to a wood-destroying pest species and also pesticidal to the pest species can be used in pest control devices and can be used as wood substitutes for structural components, which are resistant to destruction by wood-destroying pests. The composite materials include a thermoplastic polymer, a food material for the pest and a pesticide. The composite material is formed by mixing a thermoplastic polymer, wood fragments or other cellulosic materials and a quantity of pesticide, and thereafter creating a molten material within a mixer, compounder, extruder or the like. The molten material is extruded or molded to form the desired shape.
