DELIVERY OF FUEL TO VEHICLES
20180075567 · 2018-03-15 ·

Systems and methods for mobile refueling by mobile fuel carriers of vehicles of approved users at approved mobile refueling locations. The system may include a server connected to a network and a database accessible by the server that includes approved refueling location information and approved user and user vehicle information, including vehicle identification fuel preference information. User computers communicate with the server via the network, the user computers sending refueling request information including user identification and vehicle location information to the server. The server sends refueling instructions to a fuel carrier computer having a user interface which allows updating of route information with real-time information pertaining to user requests and fuel carrier location data.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COORDINATING REMOTE FUEL DELIVERY TO VEHICLES

Methods and systems are provided for conducting remote refueling events of a passenger vehicle, and for coordinating said remote refueling events with a fuel tank fill level prior to the remote refueling event, a loading state of a fuel vapor storage device, and current and predicted fuel tank pressure. In one example, an amount of fuel that can be added to the fuel tank without overwhelming a capacity of the fuel vapor storage device is increased responsive to scheduling the remote refueling event to take place at a time when the fuel tank is at a negative pressure, thus resulting in partial purge of the fuel vapor storage device prior to commencing refueling. In this way, environmentally friendly refueling events may be enabled, thus reducing the potential for undesired evaporative emissions during refueling events.

Liquid transportation

A liquid transportation system includes a loading station where a liquid is loaded into a container of a delivery vehicle, and a drop off location where the delivery vehicle transfers the liquid into a storage tank. The storage tank includes a tank marker including a first identification device that generates a first signal. The first signal identifies a type of liquid to be stored in the storage tank. The delivery vehicle includes a product marker having a control system and a second identification device. The second identification device identifies a type of liquid contained in the container. The control system receives the first signal and the second signal and determines whether the type of the liquid stored in the container is the same as the type of liquid to be stored in the storage tank.

Fuel Dispenser Commerce

Systems and processes may provide for commerce at a fuel dispenser. In one general aspect, a system and process at a fuel dispenser may have the ability to present a user interface including data regarding at least one merchant remote from the fuel dispenser's fueling facility and to determine if ordering data corresponding to the remote merchant has been received. If ordering data corresponding to the remote merchant has been received, the system and process may have the ability to present a user interface regarding payment data. The system and process may also have the ability to determine if payment data has been received and, if payment data has been received, generate a message regarding the ordering data for a remote merchant computer.

CROSS CONTAMINATION CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH FLUID PRODUCT ID SENSORS

A crossover protection system including a product transport vehicle having a tank compartment for containing a liquid product, a fluid property sensor positioned to contact liquid product stored in the tank compartment, a system controller, and a valve coupled to the tank compartment. The valve regulates a flow of liquid product from the tank compartment and has a normally locked state. The system controller may compare a received transported liquid type signal from the fuel property sensor indicative of the type of liquid product in the tank compartment and compare the type of liquid product to a stored liquid product type. If the two types match, the crossover protection controller transitions the valve to an unlocked state to allow the liquid product to unload from the tank compartment. If the two types do not match, the crossover protection controller will disable the valve from transitioning to the unlocked state.

Connection line protection system

A connection line protection system employs unique identifiers on outlets and inlets. A connector connects a selected outlet with a selected inlet. The connector mounts at opposing ends an identifier that identifies the connector. A scanner is employed to scan in tandem a first identifier of the outlet and a connector identifier and a second identifier of the inlets and the identifier of the connector. The readings are compared with a schedule to determine whether the connector is properly mounted and connected between a selected outlet and a selected inlet. The identifiers include RFIDs and barcodes. The identifiers are preferably angularly spaced around the outlets, inlets and the couplers of the connector. The identifier may be affixed by snap rings mounting barcode labels or RFID buttons.

Method and apparatus for secure processing of fuel delivery requests

A system includes a processor configured to wirelessly instruct fuel dispensation initiation over a direct wireless connection between a vehicle and a refueling truck, responsive to a wireless request made by the refueling truck, the request including a valid token and a refueling truck MAC ID with which the wireless connection is established.

SMART FUEL DISPENSER FOR EFFICIENT FUEL DELIVERY

A fuel dispenser may include a transceiver for wireless communication with a transceiver on a vehicle in order to receive vehicle information about a vehicle in response to a transceiver on the vehicle coming into a wireless communication range of the transceiver of the fuel dispenser. The vehicle information may be used to identify at least one fuel type that is suitable for the vehicle and the fuel dispenser may be prevented from dispensing a fuel type other than the at least one identified fuel type. The vehicle may also request a specific amount of fuel. A fuel transaction is complete when the amount of fuel dispensed reaches the requested amount or when an automatic shut-off mechanism is triggered.
