Self-Aligned Acoustic Hole Formation in Piezoelectrical MEMS Microphone
A membrane is formed through processes including depositing a first piezoelectrical layer, depositing a first electrode layer over the first piezoelectrical layer, patterning the first electrode layer to form a first electrode, depositing a second piezoelectrical layer over the first electrode, depositing a second electrode layer over the second piezoelectrical layer, patterning the second electrode layer to form a second electrode, and depositing a third piezoelectrical layer over the second electrode. The third piezoelectrical layer, the second piezoelectrical layer, and the first piezoelectrical layer are etched to form a through-hole. The through-hole is laterally spaced apart from the first electrode and the second electrode. A first contact plug and a second contact plug are then formed to electrically connect to the first electrode and the second electrode, respectively.

ANTI-STICTION PROCESS FOR MEMS DEVICE
A method for treating a micro electro-mechanical system (MEMS) component is disclosed. In one example, the method includes the steps of providing a first wafer, treating the first wafer to form cavities and at least an oxide layer on a top surface of the first wafer using a first chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process, providing a second wafer, bonding the second wafer on a top surface of the at least one oxide layer, treating the second wafer to form a first plurality of structures, depositing a layer of Self-Assembling Monolayer (SAM) to a surface of the MEMS component using a second CVD process.
Bonding pad layer system, gas sensor and method for manufacturing a gas sensor
A bonding pad layer system is deposited on a semiconductor chip as a base, for example, a micromechanical semiconductor chip, in which at least one self-supporting dielectric membrane made up of dielectric layers, a platinum conductor track and a heater made of platinum is integrated. In the process, the deposition of a tantalum layer takes place first, upon that the deposition of a first platinum layer, upon that the deposition of a tantalum nitride layer, upon that the deposition of a second platinum layer and upon that the deposition of a gold layer, at least one bonding pad for connecting with a bonding wire being formed in the gold layer. The bonding pad is situated in the area of the contact hole on the semiconductor chip, in which a platinum conductor track leading to the heater is connected using a ring contact and/or is connected outside this area.
Microelectromechanical electroacoustic transducer with piezoelectric actuation and corresponding manufacturing process
An actuation structure of a MEMS electroacoustic transducer is formed in a die of semiconductor material having a monolithic body with a front surface and a rear surface extending in a horizontal plane x-y plane and defined in which are: a frame; an actuator element arranged in a central opening defined by the frame; cantilever elements, coupled at the front surface between the actuator element and the frame; and piezoelectric regions arranged on the cantilever elements and configured to be biased to cause a deformation of the cantilever elements by the piezoelectric effect. A first stopper arrangement is integrated in the die and configured to interact with the cantilever elements to limit a movement thereof in a first direction of a vertical axis orthogonal to the horizontal plane, x-y plane towards the underlying central opening.
