Apparatus And Method For Contacting Blood With Ozone
An apparatus, system, and method for contacting blood with ozone to kill microorganisms in the blood are described. The method involves injecting microbubbles of ozone containing gas into a flow of blood, preferably at a temperature of less than 12° C. The apparatus includes a blood flow conduit including a blood ozone contacting portion including a porous ozone injector.
FLUID DISTRIBUTION DEVICE FOR A GAS-LIQUID CONTACTOR, GAS-LIQUID CONTACTOR AND METHOD FOR ADDING A GAS TO A LIQUID
A fluid distribution device for a gas-liquid contactor the device having a first side, a second side and a plurality of through-holes extending from the first side to the second side, through which holes a first fluid can flow. The fluid distribution device further having an interior, which is delimited by the first side and the second side and which is sealed in a fluid-tight manner in relation to the through-holes, a plurality of openings, which connect the interior to the second side, and a fluid connection, through which a second fluid can be introduced into or evacuated from the interior. A gas-liquid contactor having a fluid distribution device of this type and to a method for adding a gas to a liquid is also disclosed.
HUMIDIFICATION-DEHUMIDIFICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS AT LOW TOP BRINE TEMPERATURES
Embodiments described generally relate to systems comprising a humidifier (e.g., a bubble column humidifier) and a heating device (e.g. a heat exchanger), and associated methods. In certain embodiments, the heating device heats a first liquid stream comprising a condensable fluid in liquid phase (e.g., water) and a dissolved salt (e.g., NaCl) to a relatively low temperature (e.g., about 90° C. or less) prior to the first liquid stream entering the humidifier through a main humidifier liquid inlet. In some cases, the system comprising the humidifier and the heating device requires only low-grade heat to operate, which may be advantageous due to the low cost and high availability of such heat.
Aeration unit and filtering apparatus comprising the same
Disclosed is an aeration unit capable of cleaning all the hollow fiber membranes in a filtering apparatus sufficiently and uniformly thereby improving the filtration efficiency and a filtering apparatus comprising the same. An aeration unit of the present invention comprises a plurality of aeration tubes parallel to each other, each of the aeration tubes comprising a first end and a second end opposite the first end; and a first common pipe in fluid communication with the aeration tubes through the first ends of the aeration tubes to provide the aeration tubes with air. The first common pipe is perpendicular to the aeration tubes. The closer to both ends of the first common pipe the aeration tubes are, the more densely the aeration tubes are arranged.
Wine and spirits aerator
A liquid aerator in one embodiment includes an air deliverer having a bulb pump portion formed integrally with a stem portion; a one-way valve located in the bulb pump portion of the air deliverer; and a porous diffuser located at a distal end of the stem portion of the air deliverer. A liquid aerator in another embodiment includes an air deliverer having a bottle shape including a larger diameter base portion formed integrally with a narrower diameter neck portion; a one-way valve located in the base portion of the air deliverer; and a porous diffuser located at a distal end of the neck portion of the air deliverer.
Gas Infusing Devices and Gas Manifolds for Batch Beverage Machines
A beverage machine has a gas dissolution assembly that includes a pressure vessel having an open end and a top cap that couples with the open end of the pressure vessel. The top cap has a gas inlet through which a gas to be infused into the beverage flows. A clamping mechanism clamps the top cap onto the open end of the pressure vessel. A gas infusing device that is coupled to the gas inlet has a porous element that infuses the gas into the beverage.
Inline infusion device and method for introduction of a gas into a contained media
The present invention discloses a system for introducing a gas into a contained media such as a pond or lake. Water is removed from the media, gas introduced, and then the water removed to the contained media.
Figure to be published with the abstract:
DIFFUSOR
The invention relates to a diffusor for adding of gases into water, said diffusor comprising a perforated tube (1) and at least one supply tube (2), said the at least one supply tube (2) is at one end coupled to a source for supplying gas and at the other end in fluid communication with the perforated tube (1), the gas is supplied to the perforated tube (1) through at least one inner supply tube (4; 5; 15) extending from the supply tube (2) to the perforated tube (1). The invention is distinctive in that at the least one inner supply tube (4; 5; 15) is a non-perforating tube and has at least one outlet (4a, 5a, 15a) situated at a free end of the at least one inner supply tube (4, 5, 15), said gas is adapted to be distributed into the perforated tube (1) through the at least one outlet (4a, 5a, 15a).
