X-RAY INSECT IRRADIATOR
Packages of insects are attached to a carrier cylinder and the cylinder is rotated in a radiation field so that the packaged insects are sterilized. The radiation field is created by a plurality of x-ray tubes mounted above the carrier cylinder. The tubes (and their respective radiation sources) are positioned so that a consistent radiation dosage is delivered at the surface of the cylinder—thereby imparting both a precise and uniform dose of radiation to the insect packages affixed to the surface of the cylinder.
Electronic bait box assembly
An electronic bait box assembly for storing earthworms includes a box for containing earth and earthworms. A lid is removably attached to the box for closing the box. A voltage unit is coupled to the bait box and the voltage unit is in electrical communication with an interior of the box. Moreover, the voltage unit is placed in electrical communication with the earth that is positioned in the box. The voltage unit induces an electrical voltage through the earth when the voltage unit is turned on. In this way the voltage unit urges the earthworms to move upwardly in the earth thereby facilitating a user to remove the earthworms for fishing bait.
Photonic fence
A system for tracking airborne organisms includes an imager, a backlight source (such as a retroreflective surface) in view of the imager, and a processor configured to analyze one or more images captured by the processor to identify a biological property of an organism.
Cockroach electrocution device
A German cockroach trap provides bait, humidity, and temperature to attract German cockroaches into entries, electrocutes the German cockroaches upon entry into the trap, and stores dead cockroaches below the entries. Electrode bands form a closed ring on an interior surface and contact with two of the rings immediately kills the German cockroach which drops into a receiving dock below. A center electrode band may include holes for entry into the trap. A water reservoir in the bottom of the trap is heated to generate humid vapor. Heaters in the top of the trap are controlled to maintain temperature and a fan in the top of the trap draws ambient air into the trap to create a humid vapor flow out through the entries. Bait trays contain material further attracting the German cockroaches.
FLASHLIGHT WITH AN ELECTRONIC INSECT CONTROL SYSTEM
Exemplary embodiments of a flashlight having an electronic insect control system are provided. In some exemplary embodiments, a flashlight apparatus is provided, having a head portion comprising a first light source, a tail portion, and a body portion between the head portion and tail portion, the body portion comprising an electronic insect control system, the electronic insect control system comprising a frame portion, a second light source provided within the frame portion, and an electrical grid provided within the frame portion and surrounding the second light source, wherein the electrical grid is configured to generate a voltage.
Combined Personal Comfort Device and Pest Control Device for Flying Insects
A device that provides personal comfort to the user while simultaneously providing insect control, both functionalities facilitated by a fan component that creates airflow through the device, such airflow drawing insects into the inlet end of the device for insect control and blowing air out of the outlet end of the device for personal comfort of the user, while a trapping component inside the device prevents the insects from exiting with the outlet air and a killing component inside the device kills the insects for insect control purposes.
Device and method for subjecting a flying insect to lethal radiation
A device for subjecting a flying insect to lethal radiation. The device has a measurement beam source for producing a measurement beam, a deflection unit for deflecting the measurement beam, a lethal radiation source for producing a lethal beam and a measurement beam detector. The measurement detector has a photodetector element, the deflection unit and the measurement beam detector are arranged and cooperate such that the measurement beam sweeps the detector surface of the measurement beam detector. The device includes an evaluation unit connected to the measurement detector and the lethal light source to determine an attenuation time period of an attenuation of the measurement beam between the deflection unit and the detector surface and to control the lethal light source depending on said attenuation time to emit a lethal beam impulse. A method for subjecting a flying insect to lethal radiation is also provided.
OPTICAL PEST REPELLER
An optical pest repeller includes at least two first light sources, at least two first photosensitive members, at least one second light source, and a processing unit. The second light source is located between the first photosensitive members in a second direction. By comparing a light-shading area with a threshold value, no matter which side of the second direction a human body enters by mistake, the second light source can be turned off in time. The safety of use of the optical pest repeller is improved greatly.
Insect trapping device
Disclosed herein is an insect trapping device comprising an inner passageway structure defining an inner passageway which, when in an upright orientation, extends from an insect entry zone to an insect delivery zone, the inner passageway structure bordered by at least a pair of opposed insect-facing traction-reducing boundary surface regions to cause an insect to progress toward the insect delivery zone under gravity, with each boundary surface region including at least one of at least a pair of electrode surface regions, wherein each electrode surface region is configured for operative coupling with an electrode power supply to deliver electrical power thereto, the electrode surface regions configured to form an electrocution zone therebetween, with a designated spacing which is configured to initiate electrocution of an instance of the insect descending through the electrocution zone.
Pest control
Various aspects comprise controlling and/or euthanizing vermin or pests for preventing such vermin or pests from entering into a geographical area or into a building, wherein the device comprises at least one completely or partially uninsulated electrically conducting wire or conductor connected to an electrical current source, providing controlled electrical pulses to said conductor or wire in the form of pulses or pulse trains. The device may be used in a method for controlling the access of pests/vermin to a geographical location, building or property wherein the electrically conducting wire(s) lead(s) an electrical current with an amperage of not less than 0.0001 A. The device and method may be particularly suited for removing/controlling pests/vermin on land.
