Removal of atmospheric pollutants from gas, related apparatus, processes and uses thereof
Methods related generally to the removal of atmospheric pollutants from the gas phase, are provided. The methods involve contacting a first stream comprising NO and/or NO.sub.2 with a second stream comprising (ClO.sub.2).sup.0 to provide a third stream comprising NO and NO.sub.2 at a molar ratio of about 1:1; and contacting the third stream with a fourth stream comprising an aqueous metal hydroxide (MOH) solution to convert NO and NO.sub.2 to MNO.sub.2.
MIXER BAFFLE WITH INTEGRATED SENSOR
A mixer for a vehicle exhaust system, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a mixer outer shell defining an internal cavity configured to receive engine exhaust gases, the mixer outer shell having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. A baffle is associated with one of the first and second ends. The baffle comprises a body that includes at least one sensor area formed within the body.
Method For Controlling Fluid Accuracy And Backflow Compensation
A method for controlling fluid ratio accuracy during a dual flow injection with a powered injection system is described. The method includes predicting a first capacitance volume of a first syringe comprising a first medical fluid and a second capacitance volume of a second syringe comprising a second medical fluid with a first capacitance correction factor and a second capacitance correction factor, respectively, selecting a ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid to be administered to a patient in the dual flow injection, determining a relative acceleration ratio of a first piston of the first syringe and a second piston of a second syringe based on the predicted first capacitance volume and the predicted second capacitance volume, wherein the relative acceleration ratio is selected to maintain the selected ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid during the dual flow injection, and injecting a mixture of a first medical fluid and a second medical fluid having the selected ratio with the powered injection system.

Micro-bubble generator and shower head
One object is to generate, without the need for a motive power source and a high level of machining accuracy, micro-bubbles containing a large amount of fine air bubbles. Another object is to provide a micro-bubble generator that switches between micro-bubble water, which contains micro-bubbles, and foamed water containing a large amount of air and having a tender texture. The micro-bubble generator includes: a water passage that includes a smaller diameter portion and a larger diameter portion disposed on the downstream side of the smaller diameter portion; an air inlet disposed in the larger diameter portion and an elastic body disposed in the air inlet and configured to isolate the water passage from external air. The elastic body is compressible by negative pressure generated in the water passage, causing the external air to be sucked into the water passage through the air inlet and over the compressed elastic body.
Static mixer for fluid flow in a pipeline
A static mixer for mixing fluid flow in a pipeline includes a body having a plurality of slots through the body, the slots being angled with respect to an axis passing through a center of the body. A plurality of arms extends from an outer edge of the body towards a center of the body, each arm having a flat surface on a first side of the body and angled sides along at least a portion thereof extending to a second side of the body. The plurality of slots includes at least one concentric ring of slots.
Removal of atmospheric pollutants from gas, related apparatuses, processes and uses thereof
One aspect of the invention relates to a method comprising a single-stage conversion of an atmospheric pollutant, such as NO, NO.sub.2 and/or SO.sub.x in a first stream to one or more mineral acids and/or salts thereof by reacting with nonionic gas phase chlorine dioxide (ClO.sub.2.sup.0), wherein the reaction is carried out in the gas phase. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method comprising first adjusting the atmospheric pollutant concentrations in a first stream to a molar ratio of about 1:1, and then reacting with an aqueous metal hydroxide solution (MOH). Another aspect of the invention relates to an apparatus that can be used to carry out the methods disclosed herein. The methods disclosed herein are unexpectedly efficient and cost effective, and can be applied to a stream comprising high concentration and large volume of atmospheric pollutants.
