Catalyst for dehydrogenation of light alkanes
A novel catalyst composition and its use in the dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins. The catalyst comprises a Group VIII noble metal and a metal selected from the group consisting of manganese, vanadium, chromium, titanium, and combinations thereof, on a support. The Group VIII noble metal can be platinum, palladium, osmium, rhodium, rubidium, iridium, and combinations thereof. The support can be silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, silica-alumina, cerium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, magnesium oxide, metal modified silica, silica-pillared clays, silica-pillared micas, metal oxide modified silica-pillared mica, silica-pillared tetrasilicic mica, silica-pillared taeniolite, zeolite, molecular sieve, and combinations thereof. The catalyst composition is an active and selective catalyst for the catalytic dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins.
Manganese oxide-lanthanum manganate-PGM composites for TWC applications
The present disclosure is directed to compositions for use in oxygen capture applications, for example in three-way catalysts (TWC) systems. In some embodiments, the compositions comprise composites of aggregated and/or fused primary particles, the aggregated and/or fused primary particles collectively having the formulae [MnO.sub.x]:.sub.y:[La.sub.zMnO.sub.3].sub.1-y; wherein x is in a range from about 1 to 2.5; y is in a range from about 1 to about 30 wt %, or from about 1 to about 20 wt % or from about 2-10 wt % or from about 2 to about 5 wt %; and z is about 0.7 to about 1.1; and the La.sub.zMnO.sub.3 is a crystalline perovskite phase; the aggregated and/or fused primary particles of the composite having a mean surface area in a range of from about 25 to about 60 m.sup.2/g, preferably from about 27 to about 45 m.sup.2/g. In preferred embodiments, these compositions further comprise low levels of at least one platinum group metal (PGM), preferably Pd.
NOx-trapping catalyst having non-platinum-group-metal NOx-trapping layer
Disclosed is a NOx-trapping catalyst having a non-platinum-group-metal NOx-trapping layer, which contains a transition metal, particularly manganese, able to maintain NOx-trapping performance while decreasing the amount of expensive platinum-group metal.
LOW TEMPERATURE CO OXIDATION CATALYST
The present disclosure is directed to a low temperature carbon monoxide (LT-CO) oxidation catalyst composition for abatement of exhaust gas emissions from a lean burn engine. The LT-CO oxidation catalyst composition includes an oxygen storage component (OSC), a first platinum group metal (PGM) component, and a promoter metal, wherein the OSC is impregnated with the first PGM component and the promoter metal and the LT-CO oxidation catalyst composition is effective for oxidizing carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) under cold start conditions. Further provided are catalytic articles including the LT-CO oxidation catalyst composition, which may optionally further include a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) composition (giving an LT-CO/DOC article). Further provided is an exhaust gas treatment system including such catalytic articles, and methods for reducing a HC or CO level in an exhaust gas stream using such catalytic articles.

Diesel oxidation catalyst and exhaust system
An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine, which oxidation catalyst comprises: a first washcoat region comprising platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a first support material; a second washcoat region comprising a platinum group metal (PGM) and a second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end; wherein the second washcoat region is arranged to contact the exhaust gas at the outlet end of the substrate and after contact of the exhaust gas with the first washcoat region.
TUNABLE NOx ADSORBER
The present disclosure is directed to a method for treating a gaseous exhaust stream containing nitrogen oxides (NO.sub.x) from a diesel or lean-burn gasoline engine following a cold-start of the engine The method involves contact of the gaseous exhaust stream with at least a low temperature NO.sub.x adsorber (LT-NA) component. The LT-NA component includes a rare earth metal component, a platinum group metal (PGM) component, and a dopant. The present disclosure is also directed to a method of modulating a NO.sub.x adsorption/desorption profile of an LT-NA composition, a NO.sub.x desorption temperature range of an LT-NA composition, or both.
Method for Partially Oxidizing Alkane
[Solution] The present invention relates to a method for partially oxidizing an alkane, including contacting an alkane with a supported catalyst in a presence of an oxidizer to convert the alkane into an aldehyde, wherein the supported catalyst is composed of a bimetallic oxide and a support carrying the bimetallic oxide, and the bimetallic oxide is represented by the following formula and includes oxygen and two metals selected from metals of groups 8 to 10 of the periodic table:

Manganese-containing diesel oxidation catalyst
An oxidation catalyst composite, methods, and systems for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions from a diesel engine are described. More particularly, an oxidation catalyst composite including a first washcoat layer comprising a Pt component and a Pd component, and a second washcoat layer including a refractory metal oxide support containing manganese, a zeolite, and a platinum component is described.
