Stable small-pore zeolites
The present invention provides crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites having a maximum pore size of eight tetrahedral atoms, wherein the zeolite has a total proton content of less than 2 mmol per gram. The zeolite may comprise 0.1 to 10 wt.-% of at least one transition metal, calculated as the respective oxide and based on the total weight of the zeolite. It may furthermore comprise at least one alkali or alkaline earth metal in a concentration of 0 to 2 wt.-%, calculated as the respective metal and based on the total weight of the zeolite. The zeolites may be used for the removal of NOx from automotive combustion exhaust gases.
Exhaust System
An exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, the exhaust system comprising, a lean NO.sub.x trap, and a wall flow monolithic substrate having a pre-coated porosity of 40% or greater, and comprising an oxidation catalytic zone, the oxidation catalytic zone comprising a platinum group metal loaded on a first support, the first support comprising at least one inorganic oxide and a zinc compound.
Small pore molecular sieve supported copper catalysts durable against lean/rich aging for the reduction of nitrogen oxides
Provided is a system for treating a flowing exhaust gas comprising a lean NOx trap, a catalyzed soot filter, an ammonia or an ammonia precursor metering system for metering ammonia or an ammonia precursor into the flowing exhaust gas; and an SCR catalyst, wherein the SCR catalyst is disposed downstream of the lean NOx trap and comprises copper and/or iron supported on a small pore molecular sieve.
Stabilized metal-exchanged SAPO material
Described are catalyst materials and catalytic articles comprising a metal exchanged SAPO material comprising a plurality of substitutional sites consisting essentially of Si(4Al) sites and substantially free of Si(0Al) sites. The materials and catalytic articles are useful in methods and systems to catalyze the reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of a reductant.
CATALYST FOR REDUCING AMMONIA EMISSIONS
The present invention relates to a catalyst comprising a carrier substrate of length L, coating A arranged as the first layer on the carrier and containing platinum on a metal oxide, and coating B applied as the second layer to coating A and containing a Cu-exchanged molecular sieve and no noble metal, wherein the total washcoat quantity of coating A is 40 g/l or more of washcoat in relation to the coated catalyst volume.
METHOD OF COATING A SUBSTRATE WITH A PARTICLE STABILIZED FOAM
A method of coating a substrate with a foam is described. The method comprises: (a) introducing a foam into a substrate comprising a plurality of channels through open ends of the channels at a first end of the substrate; and (b) applying at least one of (i) a vacuum to open ends of the channels at a second end of the substrate and (ii) a pressure to the open ends of the channels at the first end of the substrate; wherein the foam comprises a particulate material, and wherein the foam is particle stabilized.
Method for the preparation of a molecular sieve of the CHA-type
The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of a molecular sieve of the CHA-type as well as catalytic applications thereof.
Single or dual layer ammonia slip catalyst
A catalyst article having an extruded support having a plurality of channels through which exhaust gas flows during operation of an engine, and a single layer coating or a bi-layer coating on the support, where the extruded support contains a third SCR catalyst, the single layer coating and the bilayer-coating contain platinum on a support with low ammonia storage and a first SCR catalyst. The catalytic articles are useful for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx in exhaust gases and in reducing the amount of ammonia slip. Methods for producing such articles are described. Methods of using the catalytic articles in an SCR process, where the amount of ammonia slip is reduced, are also described.
Selective catalytic reduction catalyst
A selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst includes a support layer. A copper-loaded chabazite (Cu/CHA) layer is supported on the support layer. A copper-loaded beta zeolite (Cu/beta) is supported on the Cu/CHA layer. The Cu/beta may be hydrothermally pre-aged prior to use of the SCR catalyst in a vehicle. The pre-aged Cu/beta is essentially free of phosphorous (P), calcium (Ca), zinc (Zn), sodium (Na), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), CaSO.sub.4, Ca.sub.19Zn.sub.2(PO.sub.4).sub.14, CaZn.sub.2(PO.sub.4).sub.2, ash, and/or soot.
EXHAUST FILTER WITH ACTIVE PLUGS
A ceramic honeycomb body having intersecting walls that form channels extending axially from a first end face to a second end face and plugs to seal the channels at least at one of the first end face and the second end face. The plugs include a first active component, such as a catalytically active component or a chemically active component, of the plug structure, wherein the intersecting walls comprise no first active component and optionally have a second active component of the wall structure or disposed on the walls. Included are methods of making the ceramic honeycomb body having plugs of the first active component and walls with no first active component.
