Multi-block copolymers
The present invention provides a multi-block copolymer comprising at least blocks A-B-A or B-A-B, wherein block A comprises a polyester formed by polymerisation of a lactone and/or a lactide; and block B comprises a copolyester formed by polymerisation of an epoxide and an anhydride, or a polycarbonate formed by polymerisation of an epoxide and carbon dioxide, and methods of production thereof.
Bis(aryl phenolate) lewis base catalysts and methods thereof
The present disclosure relates to bis(aryl phenolate) Lewis base catalysts. Catalysts, catalyst systems, and processes of the present disclosure can provide high temperature ethylene polymerization, propylene polymerization, or copolymerization as the bis(aryl phenolate) Lewis base catalysts are stable at high polymerization temperatures and have good activity at the high polymerization temperatures. The stable catalysts with good activity can provide formation of polymers having high molecular weights and the ability to make an increased amount of polymer in a given reactor, as compared to conventional catalysts. Hence, the present disclosure demonstrates highly active catalysts capable of operating at high reactor temperatures while producing polymers with controlled molecular weights and or robust isotacticity.
PROCESS FOR THE CARBONYLATION OF EPOXIDES
A process for the carbonylation of epoxides in the presence of catalyst systems, wherein the carbonylation takes place in the presence of carbon monoxide, and wherein the catalyst system contains a molybdenum-based compound. Carbonylation products as well as carbonylation derivatives and to the use of the claimed catalyst systems for the carbonylation of epoxides are also provided.
PROCESS FOR THE CARBONYLATION OF EPOXIDES
The invention relates to a process for the carbonylation of epoxides in the presence of catalyst systems, in which the carbonylation is carried out in the presence of carbon monoxide, and wherein the catalyst system comprises a vanadium-based, chromium-based, manganese-based and/or tungsten-based compound, preferably a tungsten-based compound. The invention further relates to carbonylation products and carbonylation conversion products and to the use of catalyst systems according to the invention for carbonylation of epoxides.
Heterobimetallic catalysts and site-differentiated ligands for preparation thereof
Phosphine phosphonate and phenoxyphosphine ligands bearing polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains are used as described herein to produce heterobimetallic catalysts. The ligands can be metallated selectively with palladium or nickel and secondary metal ions to provide well-defined heterobimetallic compounds. These heterobimetallic complexes exhibit accelerated reaction rates and greater thermal stability in olefin polymerization compared to other catalysts.
Supported catalyst systems and processes for use thereof
This invention relates to a supported catalyst system comprising: (i) at least one first catalyst component comprising a group 4 bis(phenolate) complex; (ii) at least one second catalyst component comprising a 2,6-bis(imino)pyridyl iron complex; (iii) activator; and (iv) support. The catalyst system may be used for preparing polyolefins, such a bimodal polyethylene, typically in a gas phase polymerization.
IONIC SOLID
Provided is an ionic solid having pores for incorporating a substance therein.
WATER STABLE COPPER PADDLEWHEEL METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK (MOF) COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESSES USING THE MOFS
This invention relates to a Cu-BTC MOF which is water stable. The Cu-BTC MOF has been modified by substituting some of the BTC ligand (1,3,5, benzene tricarboxylic acid) with 5-aminoisophthalic acid (AIA). The resultant MOF retains at least 40% of its as synthesized surface area after exposure to liquid water at 60° C. for 6 hours. This is an unexpected result versus the MOF containing only the BTC ligand. This MOF can be used to abate contaminants such as ammonia in gas streams and especially air streams.
Catalysts for polycarbonate production
The present invention provides unimolecular metal complexes having increased activity in the copolymerization of carbon dioxide and epoxides. Also provided are methods of using such metal complexes in the synthesis of polymers. According to one aspect, the present invention provides metal complexes comprising an activating species with catalytic activity tethered to a ligand that is coordinated to the active metal center of the complex.
METHODS FOR PREPARING SUBSTITUTED CHROMANONE DERIVATIVES
The present disclosure relates to a method for preparing a compound of formula (I).
