INTERNALLY HEATED REACTOR FOR HYDROCARBON CONVERSION
An apparatus for hydrocarbon conversion, the apparatus including a reactor and a reactor insert secured and disposed within an interior cavity of the reactor, is described. The reactor is configured to permit addition of a feed stream comprising a hydrocarbon at an upstream end of the reactor and to permit discharge of a product stream at a downstream end of the reactor. The reactor insert is configured to provide heat to the interior cavity to promote conversion of hydrocarbons as the feed stream moves from the upstream end of the reactor to the downstream end of the reactor. The products of the conversion reaction are discharged at the downstream end as part of the product stream. A method for hydrocarbon conversion using the apparatus is also described.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING UNSATURATED ALDEHYDE AND UNSATURATED CARBOXYLIC ACID
The present invention relates to a method for producing unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids. According to the present invention, a method for producing unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids which can impart activity and control temperature independently in fixed catalyst layer zones in a shell-and-tube reactor, thereby exhibiting improved yield and operation stability, is provided.
Corrugated grid support for vertical boiling reactor
A baffle (i.e., tube support) for use in a shell-and-tube heat exchange reactor, such as, for example, an ethylene oxide (EO) reactor, is provided that accommodates reduced tube pitch, and thus more catalyst packed tubes can be inside the reactor. The baffle, which can be referred to herein as a corrugated grid support, includes a plurality of corrugated stainless steel strips which sit into each other and form a grid pattern having tube openings. Each tube opening is configured to permit a catalyst packed tube to be inserted therein, while allowing a sufficient open area along the shell side of the tube to permit coolant to flow through the reactor.
ETHYLENE-TO-LIQUIDS SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Integrated systems are provided for the production of higher hydrocarbon compositions, for example liquid hydrocarbon compositions, from methane using an oxidative coupling of methane system to convert methane to ethylene, followed by conversion of ethylene to selectable higher hydrocarbon products. Integrated systems and processes are provided that process methane through to these higher hydrocarbon products.
Cold-Wall Reactor for Suspension-Bed Hydrogenation
The present invention provides a cold-wall reactor for suspension-bed hydrogenation, comprising a reactor body, which is provided with a reaction product outlet arranged at the top thereof, a cold hydrogen gas inlet arranged on a side wall thereof and a feed inlet arranged at bottom thereof, and the reactor body comprises, in a sequence from external to internal, a housing, a surfacing layer and a thermal insulation liner, and an inner liner cylinder, which is fixedly arranged inside the reactor body and is provided with an outlet on top thereof and an inlet on bottom thereof, wherein the outlet of the inner liner cylinder is connected with the reaction product outlet in a sealing manner, and the inlet of the inner liner cylinder is communicated with the feed inlet, wherein a side wall of the inner lining cylinder and an inner side wall of the reactor body define a cavity serving as a first circulation channel, wherein a second circulation channel is arranged on the side wall of the inner lining cylinder, and wherein an interior of the inner lining cylinder is communicated with the first circulation channel through the second circulation channel; by using the cold-wall reactor for suspension-bed hydrogenation, the material temperature is more uniform and reaction efficiency is improved, materials coking is reduced. In addition the falling and damaging of the thermal insulation liner is prevented, and the temperature of the outer wall of the reactor body is lower than the temperature of the medium.
BOILING WATER REACTOR
The invention relates to a boiling water reactor for an exothermal reaction. The reactor comprises reactant by-pass inserts arranged on top of the upper tube sheet to provide for a catalyst layer on top of the upper tube sheet and also a cooling stream of reactant by-passing the upper layer of catalyst and cooling the upper tube sheet from the temperature rise due to the exothermal reaction taking place in the upper layer of catalyst.
Method for producing carbonates
In an embodiment, a method of producing a carbonate comprises reacting carbon monoxide and chlorine in a phosgene reactor in the presence of a catalyst to produce a first product comprising phosgene; wherein carbon tetrachloride is present in the first product in an amount of 0 to 10 ppm by volume based on the total volume of phosgene; and reacting a monohydroxy compound with the phosgene to produce the carbonate; wherein the phosgene reactor comprises a tube, a shell, and a space located between the tube and the shell; wherein the tube comprises one or more of a mini-tube section and a second tube section; a first concentric tube concentrically located in the shell; a twisted tube; an internal scaffold; and an external scaffold.
Method of suction of unwanted gases from a chemical reactor
The present invention provides a highly effective method of removal of gases from the chemical reactor (01) by use of a suction unit employed near the inlet, outlet or both ends of the chemical reactor. The suction of entrapped air from the reaction mixture helps avoid fluctuation in the temperature or pressure requirement or formation of other by-products in the reaction mixture.
