Aerosol-generating article and aerosol-generating systems
Provided is an aerosol-generating article including a wrapper which is discolored as the aerosol-generating material is heated, the aerosol-generating article including: a tobacco rod; a front-end plug arranged on a side of the tobacco rod; a filter rod arranged on the other side of the tobacco rod; and the wrapper surrounding the tobacco rod, the front-end plug, and the filter rod, wherein the wrapper includes a thermochromic material which is heated and discolored by an aerosol-generating device when the aerosol-generating article is inserted into the aerosol-generating device.
CIGARETTE WRAPPER WITH NOVEL PATTERN
A wrapper for a smoking article has a base web and a plurality of elements each having at least a pair of patch areas where diffusivity is in the range of 0 to about 0.2 cm/sec. Patches of adjacent elements are circumferentially offset from one another along the axis of a smoking article. The add-on material can be applied by gravure printing in a single pass in a chevron pattern such that an apex of the element is co-linear with substantially symmetrically spaced points on a trailing, outer edge of an adjacent element. Testing elements may be simultaneously printed with the add-on material to monitor diffusivity and/or presence of add-on material.
Banded papers, smoking articles and methods
Wrapper for cigarette manufacture includes transversely extending band regions applied by a printing technique, such as gravure printing. The band regions comprise starch, an anti-wrinkling agent such as 1,2 propylene glycol or glycerin, and optionally calcium carbonate. Any suitable printing technique can be used to apply the aqueous solution to the banded regions. The pattern of banded regions may be bands, stripes, two-dimensional arrays, undulated regions, and the like along and/or around the tobacco rod. The pattern can be applied in one or more layers. The pattern may be configured so that when a smoking article is placed on a substrate, at least two longitudinal locations along the length of the tobacco rod have film-forming compound located only on sides of the smoking article not in contact with the substrate.
Hydrophobic rolling papers
A rolling paper includes a hydrophobic substrate region comprising hydrophobic groups covalently bonded to the rolling paper, and a moisture-activated adhesive adjacent to the hydrophobic substrate region and longitudinal edge of the rolling paper.
Smoking articles having reduced ignition proclivity characteristics
Smoking articles having reduced ignition proclivity characteristics are disclosed. The smoking articles include a paper wrapper containing cellulosic fibers and filler particles. The paper wrappers are treated with a film-forming composition in order to reduce the ignition proclivity characteristics of the smoking articles. In one embodiment, the film-forming composition contains an alginate combined with a starch. In an alternative embodiment, the film-forming composition contains a film-forming material combined with filler particles. The filler particles may comprise kaolin clay, magnesium oxide, mica, alum, or mixtures thereof.
Cannabis wrapper for smoking articles
A wrapping material for a smoking article is formed from a web that includes extracted pieces of cannabis combined with web building fibers. The web has a basis weight of from about 20 gsm to about 80 gsm and a permeability of from about 10 Coresta to about 100 Coresta. The wrapping material has a natural cannabis smell and taste. The wrapping material is tobacco and nicotine free and can be used as a carrier for flavorings or aerosol delivery compositions.
Filler containing blends of aerosol generating materials
An aerosol generating material is disclosed containing a blend of at least two plant fibers or aerosol generating materials. The reconstituted material can contain at least one of extracted cannabis fibers and extracted cocoa husk fibers, in combination with at least one of extracted tobacco fibers, tobacco materials, extracted herbal plant fibers, and aerosol generating herbal plant materials. The reconstituted plant fiber material is capable of generating an aerosol, such as a smoke, that has a very mild and neutral or natural taste without any harsh components. The reconstituted plant fiber material contains no nicotine, low or no amounts of other active compounds, such as THC, and contains low to no amounts of harsh combustible compounds, such as tar.
AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE HAVING WATER DISPERSIBLE FILTER COMPONENT
An aerosol generating article (10) comprises: an aerosol generating substrate (12); a filter (14) in axial alignment with the aerosol generating substrate, the filter (14) comprising at least one water dispersible filter component (16), wherein the filter component is water dispersible under the test conditions of EN 14987:2006; and a tipping wrapper (20) wrapped around the filter (14) and at least a portion of the aerosol generating substrate (12). The tipping wrapper (20) comprises: a first weakening line (22) extending around at least a portion of the tipping wrapper (20); a removable tipping wrapper portion (26) extending downstream from the at least one weakening line (22) and at least partially overlying the water dispersible filter component (16); and an upstream tipping wrapper portion (24) extending upstream from the first weakening line (22), wherein the upstream tipping wrapper portion (24) is attached to a downstream portion of the aerosol generating substrate (12) and an upstream portion of the filter (14).
Tobacco leaf rolling paper
The smoking material rolling paper is a containment structure. The smoking material rolling paper is configured for use with a smoking material. The smoking material is defined elsewhere in this disclosure. The smoking material rolling paper contains the smoking material in preparation for consumption. The smoking material rolling paper comprises a sheeting structure, a pocket structure, and an adhesive coating. The adhesive coating is applied to the sheeting structure. The pocket structure is formed in the sheeting structure. The adhesive coating holds the sheeting structure in a closed position that fully contains the smoking material within the smoking material rolling paper.
