Aerosol-generating article with predetermined insertion direction
An aerosol-generating article is provided, extending from a mouth end to an upstream distal end, and including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate; a downstream section at a location downstream of the rod and including a mouthpiece element downstream of and in longitudinal alignment with the rod, the element extending all the way to the mouth end; an upstream section upstream of the rod and including an upstream element including a segment of filtration material and extending all the way to a distal end of the article; and a first band of tipping paper at least partially circumscribing the mouthpiece element and affixing the mouthpiece to an immediately adjacent, upstream component of the article, and a second band of tipping paper circumscribing the first band, an article diameter (DME) at the mouth end being greater than an article diameter (DDE) at the distal end, a ratio (DME/DDE) being at least 1.005.
AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICE WITH REDUCED LEAKAGE
An aerosol-generating device includes a housing having a first end defining a mouthpiece, a second end, and a cavity defined between the first end and the second end. The device also includes a reservoir within the cavity. The reservoir is configured to store a liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The device also includes an atomizer and a valve within the mouthpiece of the housing. The valve has a first side and an second side. The second side of the valve includes a hydrophilic coating, a hydrophobic coating, or both a hydrophilic coating and a hydrophobic coating.
AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH PREDETERMINED INSERTION DIRECTION
An aerosol-generating article is provided, extending from a mouth end to an upstream distal end, including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate; a downstream section downstream of the rod and including a mouthpiece downstream of and in longitudinal alignment with the rod, the mouthpiece extending to the mouth end; an upstream section upstream of the rod and including an upstream element including filtration material and extending to the distal end; and a first band of tipping paper circumscribing the mouthpiece and affixing it to an adjacent upstream component of the article, and a second band of tipping paper circumscribing the first band, a mouth end diameter (DME) of the article being greater than a distal end diameter (DDE) of the article, a ratio (DME/DDE) being at least 1.005, and a diameter of the article tapering over a distal portion of the article extending from the distal end for 5 mm.
Article for use with apparatus for heating smokable material
Disclosed is an article for use with apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. The article includes a sheet including smokable material, and heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field to heat the smokable material. The sheet may be a planar sheet or a rolled sheet. Also disclosed is a system including the article and apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. The apparatus includes a heating zone for receiving at least a portion of the article, and a magnetic field generator for generating a varying magnetic field to be used in heating the smokable material when the portion of the article is in the heating zone.
AEROSOL-MODIFYING ADDITIVE COMPRISING A SUBSTITUTED 3-(1 METHYLPYRROLIDIN-2-YL)PYRIDINE
Aerosol generating articles adapted for use in an aerosol delivery device are provided. The aerosol generating articles include an aerosol generating material and an aerosol-modifying agent, wherein the aerosol-modifying agent includes a substituted 3-(1-methylpyrrolidin-2-yl)pyridine, a 3-(azetidin-2-yl)pyridine, or a 3-(azetidin-2-ylmethoxy)pyridine. The disclosure further provides devices incorporating such aerosol generating articles.
Aerosol-generating article with hollow tubular element
An aerosol-generating article (1) comprising: a first element (10) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate (12); and a hollow tubular element (100) disposed downstream of the first element (10). The hollow tubular element (100) comprises: a peripheral portion (110) defining a hollow inner region (120) of the hollow tubular element (100); and a support element (130) formed from a sheet and extending from a first point (131) at the peripheral portion (110) across the hollow inner region (120) to a second point (132) at the peripheral portion (110). The hollow tubular element (100) has an average weight of about 10 milligrams per millimetre length or less.
A CONSUMABLE
A consumable for use with an aerosol provision device including an area for receiving the consumable, wherein the consumable includes a mouth end and a distal end opposite the mouth end, wherein the distal end is shaped for insertion into the area and the mouth end is shaped to prevent insertion into the area; and/or wherein a portion of the consumable is shaped for insertion into the area in at least one predetermined orientation about a longitudinal axis of the consumable.
