Compensating chuck
A compensating chuck for concentrically clamping workpieces. The chuck has a drive unit having two pairs of entrainment members, wherein the entrainment members are preferably slidingly mounted, are respectively movable in paired relationship, and are so coupled to a respective one of the main jaws that a relative movement of a respective pair causes a synchronous movement of adjacent main jaws and that both a relative movement relative to each other with respectively different movement components and also a synchronous movement of the adjacent entrainment members in the same direction respectively causes a relative movement of adjacent main jaws.
OPENING/CLOSING CHUCK AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FINGERS
A finger includes a pair of overhanging portions that project out laterally from a main body portion. Outer peripheral surfaces of the overhanging portions are made up from five surfaces including upper surfaces, side surfaces, lower surfaces, first end surfaces, and second end surfaces. Crowning is applied to the intersections between these surfaces.
GRIPPING OR CLAMPING DEVICE
The invention relates to an automation component or clamping device including a basic housing, at least one jaw movably guided in a jaw guide of the basic housing, and a piston movably guided in the basic housing, wherein the piston has a piston surface, wherein the piston is coupled in terms of movement to the jaw, and wherein a piston rod extending on the piston transversely with respect to the piston surface, wherein the centroid of the piston surface is spaced apart from the central longitudinal axis of the piston rod.
Indexing chuck
The invention relates to an indexing chuck comprising a chuck body having an opening; a pivoting ring disposed in the opening, the pivoting ring having at least three clamping jaws that can be advanced radially, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the chuck body; an advancing device which is disposed in the pivoting ring and by means of which the clamping jaws can be moved synchronously; and two pivot pins, supported in the chuck body and forming a pivot axis, wherein the advancing device comprises a synchronizing ring which is movable relative to the pivoting ring, a driving surface extending at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the chuck body where it contacts a clamping jaw, and a contact surface on the respective clamping jaw which interacts with the driving surface of the synchronizing ring such that the clamping jaws are moved radially.
Chuck with improved gripping stroke
A chuck for gripping a workpiece includes: a chuck body; a jaw connected to the chuck body for constrained movement relative to the chuck body along a jaw path in jaw-closing and jaw-opening directions; an actuator body connected to the chuck body for constrained movement relative to the chuck body along an actuator path; and a slider body connected to the chuck body for constrained movement relative to the chuck body along a slider body path. The slider body is connected to the jaw for constrained movement relative to the jaw along a slider-body-to-jaw path. The slider body is connected to the actuator body for constrained movement relative to the actuator body along a slider-body-to-actuator-body path.
Pneumatic chuck including valve core interface
An air chuck includes a body and a valve core interface. The body includes output, interface, and input ports. The body defines a first passageway that extends between the output and interface ports. The input port defines a second passageway that is in fluid communication with the first passageway. The valve core interface is slidably coupled with the body and is slidable between extended and retracted positions. The valve core interface includes a shaft and a knob. The shaft includes proximal and distal ends. The distal end is at least partially disposed in the first passageway. The knob is coupled with the proximal end of the shaft. The shaft is rotatably coupled with the body and is selectively rotatable in either tightening or loosening directions via the knob. The distal end of the shaft comprises a grasping feature that is configured to grasp a valve core of a valve stem.
