An apparatus (100) for crimping a band of material and a method of crimping and shaping a band of material is disclosed. The apparatus (100) comprising a crimping portion (1) comprising a first crimping roller (2) defining a first rotational axis and a second crimping roller (3) defining a second rotational axis, wherein the first and second crimping rollers are configured to allow a band of material to pass therebetween and towards an adjacent apparatus; and an adjustment portion (20) configured to adjust the position of at least one of the first and second rotational axes relative to the position of the adjacent apparatus to thereby adjust the tension in the band of material between the crimping portion and the adjacent apparatus.

Provided is a paper filter for a flavor inhalation product, the paper filter having a rod-form filter medium and a rolled paper that rolls up the filter medium, wherein: the filter medium includes a wave-shaped paper sheet in which peaks and troughs are arranged in an alternating manner and so as to be continuous in a long-axis direction; the draw resistance in an airflow direction ranges from 0.2 mm H2O/mm to 1.0 mm H2O/mm; and the hardness in a direction perpendicular to the long axis ranges from 80.0% to 95.0%.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TOW BAND
A tow band (TB) for use in a cigarette filter is a tow band in which a plurality of filaments (F) made of cellulose acetate fibers are bundled together and crimped. In the tow band, a filament denier is not less than 6.0 and not more than 11.0, a total denier is not less than 5,000 and not more than 15,000, and a Cv value of the number of crimps of the tow band is not more than 4%.

A filter material is described for manufacturing a nicotine delivery product, wherein the filter material is hydroentangled and contains at least 50% and at most 100% cellulose fibers, each with respect to the mass of the filter material, wherein the filter material has a basis weight of at least 25 g/m.sup.2 and at most 60 g/m.sup.2, and wherein the filter material has a structure that is characterized in that it provides the filter material with a transparency that, measured in accordance with DIN 53147:1993-01, is at least 45% and at most 70%. Furthermore, a segment comprising a filter material for a nicotine delivery product, a smoking article which comprises such a segment, an oral nicotine delivery product, and a process for the manufacture of the filter material are described.
Method of manufacturing a tow band
A tow band (TB) for use in a cigarette filter is a tow band in which a plurality of filaments (F) made of cellulose acetate fibers are bundled together and crimped. In the tow band, a filament denier is not less than 6.0 and not more than 11.0, a total denier is not less than 5,000 and not more than 15,000, and a Cv value of the number of crimps of the tow band is not more than 4%.
A COMPONENT FOR AN ARTICLE FOR USE IN AN AEROSOL PROVISION SYSTEM
A component for an article for use in or as a non-combustible aerosol provision system includes a body of material extending in a longitudinal direction, where the body of material comprises sheet material having fibres having a length in the range 2 mm to 6 mm. The body of material can have a density in the range between about o.i and 0.25 mg/mnT-. An article for use in or as a non-combustible aerosol provision system is also provided including an aerosol generating material and a downstream portion downstream of the aerosol generating material, the downstream portion including the component. A non-combustible aerosol provision system and a method for forming a component for an article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system are also described.
METHOD AND TOOL FOR EMBOSSING OF BIODEGRADABLE PAPER TO FABRICATE CIGARETTE FILTERS
A method for embossing a sheet of substrate, wherein the embossing is realized by providing means of at least a first embossing roller and a second embossing roller configured to emboss first structures and second structures, thereby embossing the sheet of substrate when this passes in a nip formed by the first and second embossing rollers, whereby the embossed sheet of substrate is configured to be used in a manufacturing of cigarette filters, and is further configured to be entirely biodegradable. The method comprises providing a sheet of substrate. The method further comprises any one of the embossing steps in a list comprising: embossing the sheet of substrate with first structures to form crimping lines; embossing the sheet of substrate with second structures to form chimney structures; embossing the sheet of substrate with a combination of first and second structures to form crimping lines and chimney structures respectively. The crimping lines have a first width at a surface level of the sheet of substrate, and a first height or depth measured from the surface level in a first range of 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm, thereby configured to be deformable when used in the manufacturing process of cigarette filters. the chimney structures comprise segments that have a second width at the surface level of the sheet of substrate, in a second range of 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm, and a second height or depth measured from the surface level in a third range of 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm, thereby configured to remain open when used in the manufacturing process of cigarette filters and influence a pressure drop of air in such cigarette filters. Further the sheet of substrate comprises fibers with a cut length in a fourth range of 0.5 mm to 6.0 mm, and with a diameter in a fifth range of 10 ?m to 500 ?m, the fibers being entirely biodegradable and randomly distributed to deliver an air permeability. The sheet of substrate's air permeability being configured with filtration capabilities of substances present in a cigarette smoke.
