The blade body has a central hole penetrating through the upper surface and the lower surface, and is centrally symmetrical about a central axis of the central hole. At least one set of positioning side surface comprised of adjacent two of the main side surfaces is provided. An inner surface of the central hole has at least one circular arc-shaped groove fitting with a fastening screw for fixing the cutting blade. The circular arc-shaped groove directly faces toward an intersection of the two main side surfaces of the set of positioning side surface. A groove central axis of the circular arc-shaped groove has an offset distance from the central axis.
CUTTING INSERT
A cutting insert has a cutting edge formed on part of an intersecting ridge line portion of an upper face or a lower face and a side face. The cutting edge includes a major cutting edge, a minor cutting edge, and a connecting cutting edge that connects the major cutting edge and the minor cutting edge. A minor cutting edge flank that is part of the side face and that corresponds to the minor cutting edge includes a first minor cutting edge flank that connects to the minor cutting edge and that has a clearance angle of 0, and a second minor cutting edge flank that connects to the first minor cutting edge flank and that has a clearance angle of a negative value. A connecting cutting edge flank that is part of the side face and that corresponds to the connecting cutting edge includes a first connecting cutting edge flank that connects to the connecting cutting edge and that has a clearance angle of 0 or greater, and a second connecting cutting edge flank that connects to the first connecting cutting edge flank and has a clearance angle that is greater than the clearance angle of the first connecting cutting edge flank.
ROTARY CUTTING BODY HAVING INSERT POCKET WITH SEAT SURFACE PROVIDED WITH A PLURALITY OF ABUTMENT ELEMENTS AND ROTARY CUTTING TOOL
A cutting body rotatable about a tool axis has an insert receiving pocket with a seat surface at an axial forward end thereof. The seat surface has a plurality of abutment elements, including an axial abutment element having an axially forward facing abutment surface and at least one radial abutment element. In a top view of the insert receiving pocket, the axially forward facing abutment surface forms an external acute clamping angle with a radially outward facing pocket wall. A rotary cutting tool includes the cutting body, and a cutting insert removably secured in the insert receiving pocket, having a base surface in contact with the seat surface. The at least one radial abutment element occupies or is occupied by at least one radial abutting element of the base surface, and the axially forward facing abutment surface is in contact with an axial abutting surface of the base surface.
SINGLE-SIDED FOUR-WAY INDEXABLE POSITIVE CUTTING INSERT AND INSERT MILL THEREFOR
A single-sided four-way indexable cutting insert includes a positive basic shape, a rake surface, a peripheral surface including four side abutment surfaces, a base bearing surface and a screw hole connecting the rake and base bearing surfaces. The insert has an imaginary square frustum which defines a square base containing the cutting insert's base bearing surface, and further defines four isosceles trapezoid side surfaces respectively containing the cutting insert's four side abutment surfaces. A material volume V.sub.F of the cutting insert and a void volume V.sub.S of the insert fulfill the condition V.sub.S/V.sub.F0.25.
DISPOSABLE CUTTING INSERT LOCKING STRUCTURE
A disposable cutting insert locking structure includes a shank and a disposable cutting insert. An insert seat is disposed at a front end of the shank. The insert seat has a positioning portion. The positioning portion has a triangular shape. The positioning portion is provided with a screw hole. The disposable cutting insert has a bottom. The bottom is formed with a positioning recess. A through hole is defined in the positioning recess for a screw to be inserted from a top of the disposable cutting insert and screwed to the insert seat.
INDEXABLE CUTTING TOOL
An indexable cutting tool that allows for stable clamping of cutting inserts and prevents contact between head parts of fastening members and workpieces is provided. Recesses with a bottom are formed in an upper surface of the cutting insert. At least part of an inner wall surface of the recess is a curved surface bulged toward a center axis of the recess.
