WEIGHT MATERIAL CUTTING, DISPENSING AND APPLYING SYSTEMS

A feed and cutting unit for selectively cutting and dispensing individual weight material segments from a common strip of backing material is disclosed. The feed and cutting unit comprises a feed assembly, a sensor and a cutter member. The feed assembly includes a drive roller and a follower roller that frictionally engages first and second surfaces of a strip of weight material to selectively move the strip of weight material to a cutter member. The sensor is connected to a controller and measures an amount of segmented weight material on the backing material as the strip of weight material moves past the sensor. The cutter member is actuated to separate weight material segments from the backing material by cutting at least a portion of the backing material in a gap disposed between adjacent segments. Weight apply devices that receive the segments for application to an imbalanced member, are also disclosed.

Perforating device for perforating a web material including a first blade-holder adapted to rotate around a respective first rotation axis and on which at least a first perforating blade is mounted; and a support beam, on which a plurality of counter-blades are mounted; the support beam being angularly adjustable around a selection rotation axis thereof in a plurality of angular working positions, in each angular working position one of the counter-blades being in an operative position. A movable abutment is provided adapted to co-act with the support beam. A first actuating device is provided for moving the movable abutment between an active position, where the movable abutment co-acts with the support beam, and an idle position, where the movable abutment is spaced from the support beam. A second actuating device is provided for rotating the support beam in order to arrange it selectively in one of the angular working positions.

A rotary cutter mechanism includes a rotary blade which is rotatably provided around a shaft center and which includes a first cutting edge portion, a counter blade which is provided to face a locus drawn by the first cutting edge portion of the rotating rotary blade and which includes a second cutting edge portion, and a protruding member which is provided on the edge portion of the rotary blade on the first direction side and which protrudes from the rotary blade toward a rotation direction side, the rotation direction side being a side on which the rotary blade faces the object to be cut in a case where the object to be cut is cut between the first cutting edge portion and the second cutting edge portion.

According to the invention, it is provided that the web storage for storing the material web is arranged in the region of the cross-cutting device below the running height of the sheets.

The device further includes thrust members adapted to push the locking clamp against the blade and a movement device, adapted to command a movement of the locking clamp with respect to the support. Shifting the locking clamp it can also be positioned alternatively: in a first position, in which the longitudinal edge of the locking clamp is distanced from the blade, and in a second position, in which the locking clamp is pressed against the blade.

Once the fixing means are positioned and the main body and the insert are fixed, the pressing element exerts a pressing force on the blade so that the main body and the insert maintain the blade in position defining a first abutment area and a second abutment area.
