An aerosol-generating article according to one aspect of the present disclosure may include a tobacco medium portion, a filter portion disposed to be spaced apart from the tobacco medium portion, and a tubular cooling portion disposed between the tobacco medium portion and the filter portion. An inner peripheral surface of the cooling portion may include a nicotine component.

A smoking article includes a rod element of smokeable material connected to a filter element by a tipping wrapper. The filter element includes a liquid-filled directional capsule having a predefined rupture region at which the directional capsule is designed to break upon application of external force to release liquid contained therein. An indicator is provided at the tipping wrapper, or else is identifiable through the tipping wrapper, for encouraging a consumer to apply a crushing force in a particular location that can improve the user experience.

A smoking article (10) comprises a tobacco rod (12) and a filter (14) connected to the tobacco rod (12). The filter (14) comprises a first filter segment (20) and a hollow tube segment (22) downstream of the first filter segment (20). The hollow tube segment (22) defines a cavity (24) at the mouth end of the filter (14) providing an unrestricted flow channel that extends from the downstream end of the first filter segment (20) to the mouth end of the filter (14). The length of the hollow tube segment (22) is at least about 25 percent of the overall filter length. Further, the smoking article (10) comprises a ventilation zone (26) comprising at least one circumferential row of perforations provided at a location around the first filter segment (20).

A filter element for a smoking article has one end for connection to a rod element of smokeable material and an opposite end for insertion into a mouth of a user. The filter element includes: one or more filter segments provided on or arranged along a longitudinal axis of the filter element, at least one of the filter segments including a filter material; a wrapper which surrounds and wraps the one or more filter segments; and a liquid-filled breakable capsule arranged within one of the one or more filter segments, the capsule having a rupture point at which the capsule is designed to break or rupture upon application of external force to release liquid contained therein. The capsule is arranged in the one filter segment with the rupture point located at a first distance along the longitudinal axis from the one end of the filter element.

There is provided a filter for a smoking article, the filter including a hollow tube of filter material having an outer diameter and an inner diameter. The filter further includes a flow restrictor disposed in the hollow tube. At least one cross sectional dimension of the flow restrictor is larger than the inner diameter of the hollow tube, such that the flow restrictor engages with the hollow tube to retain the flow restrictor in the hollow tube. There is also provided a smoking article including such a filter.

A tip device for an electronic vaping device may include a first conduit structure and a second conduit structure. The first conduit structure may be configured to direct a generated vapor through a first conduit. The second conduit structure may be configured to direct an air flow from an ambient environment through a second conduit. The second conduit structure may include an additive material on a surface of the second conduit structure, the additive material including an additive, the additive material configured to release the additive into the air flow directed through the second conduit. An interposing structure of the first conduit structure and the second conduit structure may physically isolate the additive material from the first conduit, such that the additive material is configured to release the additive into the air flow directed through the second conduit independently of the generated vapor directed through the first conduit.

A flavor delivery release system for a cigarette or cigarette package. The system includes a cigarette, at least one capsule containing a flavorant, the capsule positioned on an external surface of the cigarette; and wherein the flavorant is released upon rupturing the capsule.

A filter for a tobacco product provided with a through hole along the axial direction, including a slit on a circumference of the filter along a circumferential direction, wherein a cross-sectional area of the through hole is changed by twisting both sides in the axial direction of the filter in relatively opposite directions along the circumferential direction with the slit as a boundary. The present disclosure relates to an ultra-low nicotine smoking article. The smoking article includes a medium part and a filter part, in which the medium part includes a tobacco medium including flue-cured tobacco, dry ice expanded tobacco, and expanded stems, the tobacco medium includes 50% by weight (wt %) to 60 wt % of flue-cured tobacco, 20 wt % to 30 wt % of dry ice expanded tobacco, and 10 wt % to 30 wt % of expanded stems based on the total weight, and the tobacco medium has a nicotine content of 0.01% to 0.05%.
