An aerosol-generating article, including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate including between 5 percent to 30 percent aerosol former by weight on a dry weight basis; and a ventilation zone arranged downstream of the rod, the ventilation zone being arranged in a hollow tubular segment of a cardboard aerosol-cooling element, and the ventilation zone being configured as a hollow tubular ventilation zone, the ventilation zone including perforations, one or more of the perforations having a non-circular cross-section having an ovality, the ovality being a ratio of a large diameter of a perforation divided by a small diameter of the perforation, of at least 1.5, a thickness of the peripheral wall of the ventilation zone being between 0.1 millimeter and 2.5 millimeters, one or more perforations having a width of between 0.05 millimeter and 0.2 millimeter, and one or more perforations having a length of between 0.25 millimeter and 1.0 millimeter.

An electronic filter is adapted for having a rolling material containing a leaf product rolled onto an exterior surface of the electronic filter where the electronic filter includes a liquid to be aerosolized and mixed with a smoke from burning the leaf product. The electronic filter can be pre-rolled into a cigarette with a leaf product and ready for consumption in a single use or can be adapted for multiple uses. The electronic filter includes a cylindrical body including a mouthpiece portion and a rolling material attachment portion, where the mouthpiece portion includes a mouthpiece having an orifice leading into the cylindrical body, and where the rolling material attachment portion includes an exterior surface of the cylindrical body adapted to have a rolling material rolled onto and sealed against the exterior surface. The electronic filter also includes a battery, storage tank and auto draw device.

A tobacco extract sheet, a method of producing the same, and a smoking article including the same are provided. The tobacco extract sheet according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may be produced from a sheet-producing liquid which includes a first tobacco extract solution, a second tobacco extract solution, and a sheet-forming agent, wherein the first tobacco extract solution may include water as an extraction solvent, and the second tobacco extract solution may include a material other than water as an extraction solvent. The tobacco extract sheet produced in this way may be applied to a smoking article and may significantly improve persistence of a tobacco smoke taste of the smoking article.

An improved, cleaner functioning smoking article is provided, comprising a aerosol forming substrate engineered to include airflow channels. Features include a hollow tube, which may be comprised of various materials, including the material for vaporization itself, within the engineered material, such as tobacco, for efficient vaporization. Other features include a hollow, inverted cone to permit air ingress in a closed bottomed HNB cigarette, and a capsule cigarette designed to retain loose leaf and original material for clean vaporization.

An aerosol-generating article according to an embodiment of the disclosure includes: a tobacco rod having an outer circumferential surface surrounded by a wrapper; a filter rod having an outer circumferential surface surrounded by the wrapper, and including a segment including a structure supporting the wrapper in a transverse direction and at least one channel formed between the wrapper and the structure: and an airflow obstruction configured to obstruct an airflow of aerosol passing through the at least one channel.
