An electronic smoking article includes a liquid aerosol formulation, a heater operable to at least partially volatilize the liquid aerosol formulation and form an aerosol and a tubular filter segment downstream of the heater. The tubular filter segment is operable to selectively filter aerosol particles and vapors from the aerosol.

There is provided a smoking article (10) comprising a tobacco rod (12) and a filter (14) axially aligned in an abutting end-to-end relationship. The filter (14) consists of a single segment of filtration material having an overall length (L) and extending from a mouth end (16) to a tobacco rod end (18). The carrier layer (52) contains a volatile additive (80) and the barrier layer (51) is impermeable to the volatile additive (80). The present invention also refers to a hollow section (40) for an elongated smoking article (100) of the invention, the hollow section (40) being spirally wound from a cardboard sheet material (42) comprising a barrier layer (51) disposed on its inner surface (41) and a carrier layer (52) disposed on the barrier layer (51), wherein a volatile additive (80) is contained in the carrier layer (52) and the barrier layer (51) is impermeable to the volatile additive (80).

A cooling cigarette filter and a smoking product are provided. The cooling cigarette filter comprises a cooling section. The cooling section is provided with one or more channels connecting two ends of the cooling section, and an inner surface of each channel is coated with a cooling material. The cooling material comprises an inorganic phase change material and PEG, and the inorganic phase change material comprises at least one of Na2CO3.10H2O, CH3COONa.3H2O, CaCl2.4H2O, and Na2SO4.10H2O. The cooling cigarette filter has the advantages of ensuring the amount of smoke and lowering the temperature of the smoke entering the mouth, especially in the cooling section. Through the combination design of the structure of the cooling stick and the type and amount of the cooling material, the smoke can flow out of a smoke generation section rapidly and smoothly.

A filter for a smoking article or an aerosol generating product comprising a first filter section and a second filter section, the second filter section being located downstream of the first filter section; the first filter section comprising filter material and two or more capsules comprising additive, the capsules being disposed in an axial region proximal a longitudinal axis of the filter and being spaced in sequence in a direction along the axis; the second filter section comprising at least one channel located in an axial region of the second filter section proximal a longitudinal axis of the filter, to facilitate, in use, drawing of an aerosol through the axial region of the first filter section in which the capsules are disposed.

A filter section including the tobacco product and a method of manufacturing a smoking article with such a filter section are also provided.
