Hydrophobic capsule
A capsule for use in a smoking article includes a liquid sensory enhancing material; and a shell surrounding the liquid sensory enhancing material. The shell has an outer surface rendered hydrophobic by hydrophobic groups covalently bond to the outer surface of the shell. The shell may be rendered hydrophobic by reacting hydroxyl groups at outer surface of the shell with fatty acid halides to covalently attach fatty acid moieties to the surface of the capsule.
FILTER FOR A SMOKING ARTICLE
A filter for a smoking article has a first filter section comprising a filter material and a smoke modifying additive disposed in an axial region thereof and a second filter section connected to the first filter section and having at least one channel located in an axial region thereof for directing smoke, in use, through the axial region of the first filter section. The smoke modifying additive can comprise a flavourant such as menthol and the second filter section can comprise a tubular section of fibrous filter material. An adsorbent filter section can also be provided.
VAPORIZER FILTER
A filter for an vaporizer has a housing having a sidewall and a top. A filter element is contained in the housing adjacent to the top. The filter element has an outer element concentrically arranged around an inner element. The outer element contains elongated fibrous filtering members containing quartz wool in order to reduce heavy metals contained in vapor passing through the filter. The inner element contains and delivers to the user flavorings or medications. A removable sanitary wrapper is disposed around the housing of the filter. The filter may also be configured as a replacement mouthpiece for a vaporizer.
Seamless capsule, filter and smoking equipment containing same
The present invention provides a capsule that is capable of suppressing volatilization of a highly volatile capsule content through the capsule shell and that is breakable. A breakable seamless capsule for a smoking equipment, comprising a content containing an oily ingredient and a capsule shell for encapsulating said content, wherein: the capsule shell contains a polysaccharide; the thickness of the capsule shell is 60 m or more; the volatilization content (VC) of the content after leaving the content to stand under an environment at a temperature of 25 C. and a relative humidity of 40% for 4 hours is 3.0 wt % or more with respect to the total weight of the encapsulated content; and the crush strength per diameter of the capsule is 3-8 N/mm.
SMOKING PRODUCT TO WHICH TRIPLE CARE TECHNOLOGY FOR REDUCING TOBACCO SMELL IS APPLIED
A smoking product includes: a smoking material portion which is wrapped by a smoking material wrapper; a filter portion whose upstream end portion is combined with the smoking material portion, which includes a capsule containing a flavoring, and which is wrapped by a filter wrapper; and a tipping wrapper which surrounds at least a partial region of the smoking material portion and the filter portion so that the smoking material portion and the filter portion are combined, wherein the tipping wrapper includes a first perforation region including a plurality of perforations formed along an outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper and a second perforation region including a plurality of perforations formed downstream of the first perforation region and along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper, and the capsule is disposed downstream of the first perforation region and upstream of the second perforation region.
LIPOPHILIC ACTIVE AGENT INFUSED TOBACCO LEAVES AND/OR TOBACCO MATERIALS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Aspects described herein relate to lipophilic active agent infused tobacco leaves and/or tobacco materials and methods of use thereof. More particularly, aspects described herein relate to tobacco leaves and/or tobacco materials infused with lipophilic active agents that provide enhanced bioavailability of the lipophilic active agents in a subject, and that mask unpleasant tastes.
COOLING FILTER ROD, APPLICATION THEREOF AND CIGARETTE
A cooling filter rod, an application, and a cigarette are provided. The cooling filter rod is mainly formed by cooling particles. The cooling particle includes a particle body and a shell coated on the particle body. The shell or the particle body contains a phase change material. The phase change material is coated on the surface of the particle material to form cooling particles, and the cooling particles are integrally formed into a cooling filter rod, which can be directly used for cigarette production after being compounded with conventional filter rods. The cooling effect can be controlled according to the amount of the phase change material and the cooling filter rod. Such a filter rod can realize industrial production and has low cost and good cooling effect.
Shaped elements for smoking devices
A mouthpiece for a smoking device is provided. The mouthpiece comprises a porous substrate. The porous surface comprises a wall having an outer surface having an outer cross-sectional shape and an inner surface having an inner cross-sectional shape. The inner surface defines a hollow interior space. A wall thickness is defined by the outer and inner surfaces. The porous substrate has a specific hardness of at least about 1.5 hardness % per weight (g) per length (mm) of the porous substrate. The porous substrate has a porosity of about 50% to about 70%. The inner and outer surfaces provide a wall thickness of about 20% to 60% of an area defined by the outer cross-sectional shape.
Hydrophobic smoking article tube
A smoking article tube includes an elongated tube having a mouthpiece segment at a first end and an empty smokable material cavity defined by a second end of the elongated tube opposing the first end. A hydrophobic tube region includes hydrophobic groups covalently bonded to the elongated tube.
Smoking article filter with flavorant delivery system
A breakable capsule such as a seamless breakable capsule useful in a smoking article or a smokeless tobacco product includes an outer shell formed of a cross-linked agar matrix including at least one filler, and an inner core surrounded by the outer shell which comprises a liquid or gel based composition of a flavorant and/or non-flavorant. The cross-linked agar matrix is reinforced with carboxymethyl cellulose that is dispersed throughout the agar matrix so as to fill empty spaces in the agar matrix and inhibit the composition from passing through the empty spaces of the agar matrix.
