A starch-based cooling material of the invention is prepared by 8.0 to 9.0 parts of a starch, 0.5 to 1.0 part of a phase change material, and 0.5 to 1.0 a part of polyol. The starch-based cooling material of the invention is prepared by coordination of the starch, the phase change material and the polyol, wherein the phase change material has effects of absorbing and storing heat, a temperature of smoke can be significantly reduced, an effect of fast and strong cooling is realized, and a cooling effect can reach 70° C. to 120° C. All the raw materials for preparing are biodegradable materials, and a prepared heat-not-burn cigarette filter stick can be degraded after use, which is environmental friendly, and can be widely used in the field of preparing heat-not-burning cigarette products.

The invention relates to a smoking article having a cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis running through respective base areas of a distal end and a mouth end of the smoking article. The smoking article segments are at least in part wrapped in a circumferential wrapper and arranged subsequently in from the distal to the mouth end as follows: a. a tobacco segment comprising tobacco or tobacco derived smokable material, b. a cooling segment having a first flow path from the tobacco segment to a filter segment, c. the filter segment comprising a second flow path from the cooling segment to the mouth end.

The filter segment comprises a tobacco product including tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 m and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles. The invention also comprises a method for manufacturing such a smoking article.

A filter segment for use in a filter of a smoking article includes a substrate loaded with at least one smoke-modifying agent. The substrate is located within the body of the filter segment and is formed from filter plug wrap having an air permeability ranging from about 6,000 Coresta units to about 24,000 Coresta units.

A filter part (1) for use in an aerosol generating article and a method of manufacturing the filter part (1). The filter part (1) includes an aerosol permeable core (11) surrounded by a sleeve (12). The sleeve (12) is formed of linear, axially oriented fibres and the core (11) is formed of expanded, randomly oriented fibres. The method includes forming two or more strips (2a, 2b) into segments surrounding a conveying path, bringing the segments together into a sleeve former (7) to form the sleeve (12) and introducing loose fibres (52) between the segments upstream of the sleeve former (7) such that they are drawn therein in a random orientation and compressed between the segments as they are brought together to form a filter rod (8) with an aerosol permeable core (11) within the sleeve (12). The filter rod (8) is then cut to form the filter part (1).

A filter for an vaporizer has a housing having a sidewall and a top. A filter element is contained in the housing adjacent to the top. The filter element has an outer element concentrically arranged around an inner element. The outer element contains elongated fibrous filtering members containing quartz wool in order to reduce heavy metals contained in vapor passing through the filter. Disclosed are cellulose acetate tows, bales, and filter rods having at least 3 denier per filament and at least 50,000 total denier, or at least 6 denier per filament and at least 40,000 total denier, for use as hollow filters, non-wrapped filters, or combinations thereof, in smoking devices and aerosol-generating devices, such as an electrically heated cigarette. The cellulose acetate tow may comprise at least 3-6 denier per filament and may have a total denier of at least 50,000 to 100,000. The cellulose acetate tow comprises at least 6-12 denier per filament and may have a total denier of at least 40,000 to 90,000. The hollow filter may comprise a non-wrapped cellulose acetate hollow filter.

An aerosol-generating article (10) includes an aerosol forming substrate (20) and a filter (30) downstream of the substrate. The aerosol-generating article has an average radial hardness of 95.5% or greater when measured around the filter. The filter has a resistance to draw of 70 mmWG or less.

A method for manufacturing a flavor capsule of tobacco according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise: a membrane manufacturing step for manufacturing a membrane of a flavor capsule by a membrane manufacturing part that manufactures a membrane; a capsule manufacturing step for manufacturing the flavor capsule using an apparatus for manufacturing a capsule with the membrane manufactured during the membrane manufacturing step and a flavored liquid to be held in the membrane; and a hardening step for hardening the flavor capsule.

A smoking article or an aerosol generating product comprising a filter arrangement comprising a first filter section and a second filter section, the second filter section being located downstream of the first filter section; and a ventilation arrangement configured to provide a user controllable level of ventilation into the first filter section; wherein a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the second filter section is lower than a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the first filter section; and the first filter section comprising filter material and one or more capsules comprising an additive.

A filtered smoking article includes a smoking body, a filter including a filter member and an air-permeable paper, and having a flavor capsule arranged therein, and a tipping paper. The flavor capsule includes a capsule body, and a colored content liquid containing a flavor component. The air-permeable paper is arranged to be opposed to a region in which the colored content liquid is released when the flavor capsule is crushed, and has an air permeability of 1,000 C.U. to 30,000 C.U. The tipping paper is impermeable to the colored content liquid, and includes at least three transparent parts. Each of the transparent parts is arranged to be opposed to the region in which the colored content liquid is released.
