Smoking article
An aerosol-generation system for a smoking article comprises an aerosol-generating segment and a heat generation segment. The heat generation segment has a length and includes a heat source. The aerosol-generation system for a smoking article also comprises an insulator having at least a portion extending beyond the second end of the heat source, such that the portion is axially arranged in a lengthwise direction proximate to the aerosol-generating segment. Each segment is physically separate and in a heat exchange relationship. The heat source comprises a carbonaceous material.
Amphiphile-modified sorbents in smoking articles and filters
Smoking articles which involve the use of amphiphile-modified sorbents are disclosed. The amphiphile-modified sorbent has at least one amphiphilic compound bound to an inorganic molecular sieve substrate. The amphiphile-modified sorbent selectively removes certain constituents from cigarette smoke, while maintaining other constituents, such as those that contribute to flavor. Methods for making cigarette filters and smoking articles using amphiphile-modified sorbents, as well as methods for smoking a cigarette containing an amphiphile-modified sorbent, are also provided.
Cigarettes and cigarette filters including activated carbon for removing nitric oxide
Filters and cigarettes include an activated carbon sorbent capable of selectively removing nitric oxide from mainstream tobacco smoke. Methods for making cigarette filters and cigarettes using the activated carbon sorbent and methods for treating mainstream tobacco smoke produced by smoking a cigarette comprising the sorbent are also provided.
Smoking article filter and smoking article including the same
Provided herein are a smoking article filter and a smoking article including the same. The filter according to some embodiments of the present disclosure includes a filter plug including a filter material and a liquid material added to the filter plug. Here, a molecular weight of a hydrophilic group of the filter material may be larger than or equal to a molecular weight of a hydrophobic group thereof, and in this case, changes in physical properties of the filter due to adding the liquid material may be minimized.
Magnetic Cigarette Filters And Related Methods
A magnetic filter device for use with a cigarette, the magnetic filter device capable of being gathered from loose or uneven ground surfaces via a magnet. The magnetic filter device may comprise a filter element, a wrapping element, and a magnetic element e.g., a ferrous metal), the magnetic element being a layer between the filter and the rolling paper, integrated into the rolling paper, or integrated or inserted into the material of the filter.
Reduction of amines and nitrosamines in cigarette smoke vapors through a filter functionalized with olive tree polyphenols
The traditional filters used in cigarettes are found to be ineffective in trapping the toxic chemical compounds which cigarette produces during combustion. The current invention aims to provide systems and methods (or to a universal filter) to reduce amines and nitrosamines in cigarette smoke vapors through a filter functionalized with olive tree polyphenols. Amines and Nitrosamines are highly toxic chemicals in the smoke and aerosol of a combusted cigarette. Olive polyphenols are able to trap amines and nitrosamines by establishing weak and strong interactions with these compounds by trapping these compounds in the filter.
Electronic vapor provision system
There is provided an electronic vapor provision system comprising: a vaporizer for vaporizing liquid for inhalation by a user of the electronic vapor provision system; a power supply comprising a cell or battery for supplying power to the vaporizer; and a filter for filtering vaporized liquid prior to inhalation by the user of the electronic vapor provision system, wherein the filter can partially or completely remove from the vapor one or more aldehydes present in the vapor.
SMOKING ARTICLE MOUTHPIECE WITH COOLING AGENT INCLUSION COMPLEX
A smoking article includes a mouthpiece having an outer surface and a cooling agent inclusion complex disposed on the outer surface.
HYDROPHOBIC SMOKING ARTICLE TUBE
A smoking article tube includes an elongated tube having a mouthpiece segment at a first end and an empty smokable material cavity defined by a second end of the elongated tube opposing the first end. A hydrophobic tube region includes hydrophobic groups covalently bonded to the elongated tube.
Smoking article mouthpiece with cooling agent inclusion complex
A smoking article includes a mouthpiece having an outer surface and a cooling agent inclusion complex disposed on the outer surface.
