A method of manufacturing a smoking article including a tube filter includes preparing a smoking material portion, a first tube filter flavored by a first flavoring liquid, and a mouthpiece flavored by a second flavoring liquid; and combining and packaging the smoking material portion, the first tube filter, and the mouthpiece with a wrapper, wherein the preparing comprises applying the first flavoring liquid inside the first tube filter through a hollow of the first tube filter.

Disclosed herein is a degradable cellulose ester. The cellulose ester may be formed into tow for use in cigarette filters or into articles, such as molded articles. A basic material, an enzymatic material, or combinations thereof is included in the cellulose ester in order to degrade the cellulose ester.

A tobacco smoke filter or filter element including a nonwoven fabric, wherein the nonwoven fabric comprises: a sheet of staple fibres; and a water soluble binder; wherein the water soluble binder is uniformly coated on at least one face of the sheet of staple fibres. The filter has superior biodegradability.

The device can include a filter comprising a filter element having a shaped rim structure and a recess formed in a surface of a body of the filter along a curved face extending from the first end to the second end, the recess extending radially into the body. The smoking accessory can include a capsule containing a flavoring agent disposed within the recess. The device may be received by a first end a tubular member formed to receive a smoking material, that when burned passes smoke into the device.

A smoking article is provided that includes an aerogel, which can be optionally impregnated with a catalytic metal compound or can optionally be coated with at least one aerosol-forming material and a flavoring agent. The smoking article comprises various segments such as a heat generation segment, an aerosol-generation segment, and a mouth end. The aerogel can be placed near or within any of these segments. The presence of the aerogel can reduce the concentration of certain gaseous components of mainstream smoke generated during use of a smoking article incorporating a heat generation segment containing a fuel element.

A molding apparatus, a cigarette filter rod and a preparation method thereof are disclosed. The molding apparatus comprises a single-screw extrusion system and a cooling setting system. The single-screw extrusion system comprises a feeder and an extruder. The feeder is arranged on the extruder. The extruder comprises a cylinder. A heater is arranged outside the cylinder. A screw is arranged inside the cylinder, and a mouth mold is arranged at one end of the cylinder. The cooling setting system comprises a round tube and a cooler. The cooler (6) is arranged outside the round tube. One end of the round tube is butted with the mouth mold of the extruder; and multiple groups of grooves are formed on threads of the head of the screw.

A filtered cigarette possesses at least one breakable capsule in its filter element. The filter element can possess a central cavity extending from the cigarette tobacco rod towards the middle of the filter element. The central cavity may be defined by an inner filter portion. The inner filter portion can be surrounded by an outer filter portion comprised of filter tow material that is generally permeable to the smoke generated by the cigarette. At least one breakable capsule is disposed in the central cavity of the filter element. The breakable capsules are spherical in shape, and are composed of a gelatin outer shell that encloses a payload of triglycerides and flavoring agents. The breakable capsules are adapted to rupture in response to pressure applied by the smoker to the outside region of the filter element.

A filtered cigarette possesses at least one breakable capsule in its filter element. The filter element can possess a central cavity extending from the cigarette tobacco rod towards the middle of the filter element. The central cavity may be defined by an inner filter portion. The inner filter portion can be surrounded by an outer filter portion comprised of filter tow material that is generally permeable to the smoke generated by the cigarette.
