CIGARETTE FILTER CONTAINING ALGINITE
20210315269 · 2021-10-14 ·

The invention relates to a cigarette filter. In particular, the present invention relates to a new cigarette filter, in which materials of natural origin are used that have not been applied in this special field before. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cigarette filter, which can be used for absorbing the toxic components of cigarette smoke, and lowering the tissue damage triggered by cigarette smoke on the respiratory organs, the cardiovascular system and the mucosa. Especially the present invention relates to a cigarette filter containing alginate.

Filter materials including functionalized cellulose

Embodiments described herein provide materials and methods for the absorption or filtration of various species and analytes. In some cases, the materials may be used to remove or reduce the amount of a substance in vapor sample (e.g., cigarette smoke).

Hydrophobic capsule

A capsule (120) for use in a smoking article includes a liquid sensory enhancing material; and a shell surrounding the liquid sensory enhancing material. The shell has an outer surface rendered hydrophobic by hydrophobic groups covalently bond to the outer surface of the shell. The shell may be rendered hydrophobic by reacting hydroxyl groups at outer surface of the shell with fatty acid halides to covalently attach fatty acid moieties to the surface of the capsule.

CIGARETTE

A cigarette includes a tobacco rod and a filter rod connected to a downstream end portion of the tobacco rod. A portion of the filter rod includes a cooling portion, and the cooling portion includes sucrose as a cooling material.

Smoking Substitute Consumable

The present disclosure relates to an aerosol-forming article (e.g., a smoking substitute article such as an HNB consumable) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and a filter element wherein the filter element is at least partly circumscribed by a flavored sleeve.

DEGRADABLE CELLULOSE ESTER
20210244088 · 2021-08-12 ·

Disclosed herein is a degradable cellulose ester. The cellulose ester may be formed into tow for use in cigarette filters or into articles, such as molded articles. A basic material, an enzymatic material, or combinations thereof is included in the cellulose ester in order to degrade the cellulose ester.

Tubular elements for smoking articles

There is provided a tubular element for use in the manufacture of a filter of a smoking article, the tubular element comprising a first and a second layer wound of substantially continuous strips of a cellulose-fibre-based web material. The strips have predetermined thickness (T) and width (W). The web material is coated on a first surface with an activatable polymer and the first surface of the web material in the first layer faces the first surface of the web material in the second layer. An external diameter of the tubular element is substantially uniform over a given length.
