APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR JOINING IN A TUBE
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for joining a longitudinal seam in a tube, to an apparatus and method of joining a longitudinal seam in a tube in a borehole, to an apparatus and method of repairing a tube and to a pig. In an aspect an apparatus is provided for joining a longitudinal seam in a tube. The apparatus (200) includes a spool (202) for progressively unwinding a coiled member (10) into an extended form (12). The member (10) transitions from a flat form when coiled (11) to a slit tube form when extended (12), in which form the member is resiliently biased. A joining device (214) is positioned downstream of the spool arranged to provide energy to a portion of the member in its extended form to cause heating so as to progressively join together the longitudinal edges of the slit tube as the member passes the joining device. A longitudinal seam (20) is thereby formed in the tube.

A new method for fully automatically manufacturing a fluid container with a pressure unit is described, which pressure unit is mounted in a fluid container. The present invention discloses a device for producing a reinforcing structure, which comprises a strip that is fibre-reinforced and comprises thermoplastic material, on the surface of a moulding. The device is characterized in that a laser diode array is adapted for irradiating a radiation zone so as to bring about such an uneven intensity distribution on a heating-up area of a strip from which the reinforcing structure is formed that the radiation intensity on the heating-up area of the strip decreases at least in certain portions in a drawing direction R2.

A system for welding an elongate element along a longitudinal direction to a component including a support element comprising a support surface, a magnetic field generating arrangement generating a predefined magnetic field, a carriage comprising contacts supporting an elongate element against movement along the surface of the component in directions perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, a superconducting element being fixedly connected to the carriage, an element cooling device for cooling the superconducting element below its transition temperature, a mover operable to linearly move the carriage, and a welding device for welding the elongate element to the component. The predefined magnetic field defines a linear path along the support surface for the superconducting element when the superconducting element has a temperature below its transition temperature.
Laminating device for composite materials
A laminating device for composite material includes a laser device, a hot roller assembly which has a first hot roller and a second hot roller, a cool roller assembly which has a first cool roller and a second cool roller, an axial roller-driving unit and a spring force-adjusting unit. The laser device provides a laser beam onto laminating surfaces of two separate composite materials prior to the hot roller assembly. The axial roller-driving unit drives the first hot roller and the second hot roller, and the first cool roller and the second cool roller, to undergo relative movement in a first direction. The spring force-adjusting unit provides spring forcing to the first hot roller and the second hot roller, and the first cool roller and the second cool roller, to ensure further the lamination of the two composite materials.
Method for the Integral Bonding of Two Workpieces
The invention relates to a method for the integral bonding of two workpieces made from different types of thermoplastic polymers with the help of a preferably thermoplastic polymer primer as bonding layer, comprising the following steps: providing a first workpiece made from a thermoplastic polymer having a first edge layer; providing a second workpiece made from a thermoplastic polymer having a second edge layer, said thermoplastic polymer being of a different type to the thermoplastic polymer of the first workpiece; preheating the first edge layer; applying the primer on the preheated first edge layer, wherein, during the application of the primer, the preheated first edge layer has a temperature in the range between the extrapolated onset of the glass transition temperature for amorphous plastics or the peak starting temperature of the melting region for partially crystalline plastics and the step starting temperature of the disintegration of the thermoplastic polymer of the first edge layer; bringing the first edge layer provided with the primer into contact with the second edge layer; and integral bonding of the first edge layer with the second edge layer.
Plastic Bag Making Apparatus
In an apparatus for successively making plastic bags, a laser beam irradiator irradiates laser beam onto webs of panel material and a body of zipper material to heat and melt the webs of panel material and the body of zipper material with the laser beam. The webs of panel material and the body of zipper material are fed intermittently at a speed predetermined to be changed by time. The irradiator is controlled on a feedforward control basis for the laser beam to be regulated in amount, the amount being calculated from the speed predetermined, to obtain a calculated value of amount. The laser beam is regulated in accordance with the calculated value to heat and melt the webs of panel material and the body of zipper material uniformly irrespective of the speed being changed.
