MACHINING METHOD, APPLICATION TOOL, AND MACHINING ARRANGEMENT FOR MODIFYING OR REPAIRING A SURFACE SPOT OF A WORKPIECE SURFACE OF A FIBER COMPOSITE WORKPIECE
To reduce the processing time in the case of repairing of excessively countersunk bolt openings or surface damage in fiber composite workpieces, it is proposed to countersink the corresponding surface spot to produce a contact surface and a depression for a fiber composite insert body. The fiber composite insert body is placed onto the contact surface and is fixed on the fiber composite workpiece in the depression. In the case of an excessively countersunk bolt opening, a new bolt opening is drilled into the fiber composite insert body, which new bolt opening is subsequently countersunk to the correct countersunk bore depth. In the case of the method, a three-legged application tool can be used which positions and orients the fiber composite insert body correctly and presses it onto the fiber composite workpiece during the curing of the adhesive.
Method of anchoring a first object in a second object
A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on a first object in an opening provided on a second object. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. During the step of inserting the insert portion in the opening and/or during anchorage a clamping force is applied to opposing surfaces of the second object to prevent the second object from cracking or bulging.
Quick-mount interchangeable sealer and punch for plastic film
A hole cutter/punch arrangement that can be changed over quickly to a different hole cutter or punch or slitter, or can instead be converted to a sealer in manufacture of items from plastic film. A reciprocating drive such as an air cylinder is coupled to a transverse mount or holder, of a T-shaped profile and the punches and sealers each have a mounting shoe with a transverse T-profile channel to slide onto the mount where a detent holds the shoe releasably in place. A triple-tree arrangement of a center drive post and left and right guide posts connects to the transverse holder.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING PAINT-ROLLER COVER FABRIC AND STRIP MATERIAL
In an embodiment, a paint roller manufacturing system and method uses a fabric-coating applicator to apply a fabric adhesive onto a portion of a perforated paint roller cover fabric material having a plurality of perforations through which adhesive may flow, and into the plurality of perforations and into interstitial spaces of the fabric material, to yield a length of coated fabric. An inner strip and an outer strip are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. A strip-coating applicator is used to apply a strip adhesive to the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. Simultaneously with the step of applying the strip adhesive to the outer strip, a portion of the coated paint roller fabric material is received at the outer strip and the length of coated fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube.
Glue filling method for multilayer thin film sensor structure
A glue filling method for a multilayer thin film sensor structure is disclosed herein. Two outer layers of a composite heat-resistant membrane are carved to have desired patterned holes; an inner layer is interposed between two outer layers to form a layered structure. The composite heat-resistant membrane is stuck onto the multilayer thin film sensor structure with the patterned holes aligned to an electric-conduction through-hole of the multilayer thin film sensor structure to form a filling region. A conductive glue is filled into the filling region. Sustained by the inner-layer heat-resistant membrane, the conductive glue protrudes from the patterned hole to cover a portion of the conductive metals on the surface of the multilayer thin film sensor structure. Thereby are simultaneously achieved a water-proof effect, an airtight effect and a fine interface compatibility.
System and method for conditioning paint-roller cover fabric
A system and method are provided for conditioning paint roller cover fabric inline in a continuous paint roller manufacturing process. The system and method provide an inline fabric conditioning unit upstream of the point in the process that the paint roller fabric cover strip is wrapped about the outer side of the outer strip, the fabric conditioning unit including a fabric conditioning device that conditions the paint roller fabric cover strip as it is being fed towards the outer side of the outer strip. The fabric conditioning unit may be used to perforate the fabric, to remove loose fibers from the fabric side of the paint roller fabric cover, to buff the paint roller fabric, and to orient the paint roller cover fibers. The continuous paint roller manufacturing process includes steps of feeding an inner strip and an outer strip towards a mandrel, wrapping the inner strip and the outer strip about the mandrel in offset relation, applying a strip adhesive to at least a portion of an outer side of the inner strip and at least a portion of an outer side of the outer strip, feeding a paint roller fabric cover strip having a fabric side and a backing side towards the outer side of the outer strip, the fabric side comprising loose fibers and attached fibers, forming a paint roller tube by wrapping the paint roller fabric cover strip about the outer strip at a point in the process after the strip adhesive has been applied to the outer side of the outer strip such that the backing side contacts the strip adhesive, applying compression to the paint roller tube, and cutting the paint roller tubes into like lengths.
Sanitary Tee or Wye fitting component and use in a DWV system
An internal boss can have an outer side surface shaped to match the bored opening of the Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) pipe, an inner side surface shaped to align with an interior pipe surface of the sanitary Tee or Wye fitting component, and an internal face surface of the boss extending between the side surfaces and shaped to align with an interior pipe surface of the DWV pipe when welded thereto. Snap-fit wings can hold the interior face surface of the sanitary Tee or Wye fitting component against an exterior face surface of the DWV pipe while the fitting component and DWV pipe are homogeneously weldable into a single DWV fitting using a solvent mixture including a common plastic material. Related methods and single homogeneous fittings are also provided.
