A non-woven textile may be formed from a plurality of thermoplastic polymer filaments. The non-woven textile may have a first region and a second region, with the filaments of the first region being fused to a greater degree than the filaments of the second region. A variety of products, including apparel (e.g., shirts, pants, footwear), may incorporate the non-woven textile. In some of these products, the non-woven textile may be joined with another textile element to form a seam. More particularly, an edge area of the non-woven textile may be heatbonded with an edge area of the other textile element at the seam. In other products, the non-woven textile may be joined with another component, whether a textile or a non-textile.

Housing having housing parts bondable together and method of manufacturing the same

A housing includes a first surrounding wall connected around a base wall. The first surrounding wall has a first joint portion opposite to the base wall, a first outer surface and a first inner surface. The first outer and inner surfaces extend from the first joint portion toward the base wall. The first joint portion is stepped and has a first projecting portion adjoining the first outer surface, and a first shoulder portion indented from the first projecting portion and proximal to the first inner surface. The first shoulder portion has a plurality of parallel spaced-apart ribs protruding therefrom in a same direction as the first projecting portion. Each of the ribs has a tip that does not extend beyond a top end of the first projecting portion.

Gear housing especially for an epicyclic gear set and method of making same

A gear housing for an epicyclic gear set, the gear housing including a hollow wheel having internal teething and a first front end with a first front-side joining surface; a housing cover having a second front end with a second front-side joining surface for longitudinally axially covering the hollow wheel; and a bonded connection for connecting the first front end to the second front end through the mating of the first and second front-side joining surfaces, at which the hollow wheel and the housing cover are connected to each other by a bonded connection, in particular, by heated tool welding, infrared welding, ultrasonic welding, or rotary friction welding.

Composite product with junction structure

A composite product having a junction structure includes a first unit formed of a composite material, a first connector formed of a metal and provided with one end inserted into one end of the first unit and formed integrally with the first unit and another end extending outwards from the first unit, a second unit formed of a composite material, and a second connector formed of a metal and provided with one end inserted into one end of the second unit and formed integrally with the second unit and another end extending outwards from the second unit, wherein the other end of the first connector and the other end of the second connector are joined and fixed by welding under a condition that the ends of the first unit and the second unit are opposite each other adjacently.

HAPTIC MOTOR

A method of forming a seat cushion of a vehicle seat includes locating a motor in a first portion of a housing, and positioning a second portion of the housing on the first portion of the housing, wherein one of the first and second portion of the housing includes a meltable feature located near a location of contact of the first and second portion. The meltable feature is melted to permanently secure the first and second portion together and provide a sealed housing that retains and seals the motor. The sealed housing is suspended in a mold with a rod. Liquid foam is poured into the mold, and the liquid foam is allowed to solidify to form a solid foam seat cushion that encapsulates the sealed housing and embeds the sealed housing in the foam cushion. The sealed housing prevents the liquid foam from contacting the motor.

Method for manufacturing fuel cell assembly

A method for manufacturing a fuel cell assembly includes: arranging an end face of a gas diffusion layer on a placement jig in a state abutting an end face of a resin frame; melting a part of the frame member and causing to penetrate into the gas diffusion layer by pressurizing the projecting part by way of a heat-transfer member, and heating the projecting part via the heat-transfer member by abutting a heating member against of the heat-transfer member; and solidifying the part of the resin frame having penetrated into the gas diffusion layer, in which an abutting position of the heating member relative to the heat transfer member is set in the melting step so that a central axis of the heating member is positioned more to a side of the gas diffusion layer than the central axis of the projecting part.

A yarn or thread may include a plurality of substantially aligned filaments, with at least ninety-five percent of a material of the filaments being a thermoplastic polymer material. Various woven textiles and knitted textiles may be formed from the yarn or thread. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be thermal bonded to other elements to form seams. A strand that is at least partially formed from a thermoplastic polymer material may extend through the seam, and the strand may be thermal bonded at the seam. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be shaped or molded, incorporated into products, and recycled to form other products.
