The invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for establishing a connection having material continuity or having material continuity and shaping matching or for separating such a connection of at least one metal or ceramic component and of a component formed from or by a thermoplastic polymer in which the components to be joined together can be pressed together by a pressing device having a counterholder and a plunger. A heating device is present at the plunger and/or at the counterholder or acts there. A heating of the at least one metal or ceramic component up to above the softening temperature of the component formed from or by polymer can be achieved with the heating device, with the heating device being having at least one electrical resistance heating element that is covered by an electrically insulating, preferably ceramic, protective film, and/or having at least one laser beam that is directed to the metal component(s) within the joining region, and/or having at least one inductor present at the plunger and/or at the counterholder for the inductive heating of the meal component(s).

RESIN CONNECTOR CONNECTION STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A resin connector (10) includes a tubular connector main body portion (11) which is formed to contain a reinforcing filler in a main portion base material resin, and a tubular connector end portion (12) which is formed of a end portion base material resin without containing the reinforcing filler or containing the reinforcing filler at a lower proportion than the connector main body portion (11) and is joined to the connector main body portion (11) to constitute a tubular end portion. The resin tube (20) is formed of a material having a higher absorption rate of a laser beam than the connector end portion (12) and is fitted to the connector end portion (12) to be welded to an inner peripheral surface or an outer peripheral surface of the connector end portion (12) and not to be welded to the connector main body portion (11).

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HOLLOW PROFILE COMPONENT, MOLD TOOL AND HOLLOW PROFILE COMPONENT

A method for producing a channel-shaped hollow profile component from a nonwoven material includes providing first and second nonwoven material layers arranging the first and second nonwoven material layers in a mold tool having first and second mold tool halves and a core body wherein a formation of the first and second nonwoven material layers and the core body is arranged between the first and second mold tool halves, and wherein the core body is arranged between the first and second nonwoven material layers in the formation, and simultaneously forming the first and second nonwoven material layers in the mold tool to form a first nonwoven partial shell and a second nonwoven partial shell.

Apparatus and Method for Folding Side

Disclosed herein is an apparatus for folding a side extending outward from a cup part in a battery case of a pouch-type secondary battery. The apparatus can include a body having a plate shape, adjacent to the side, and disposed to be elongated in a longitudinal direction of the secondary battery, wherein the body includes, a heating part disposed at one side thereof to heat an inner portion disposed at a relatively inner side of the side, and a pressing part disposed at the other side thereof to press an outer portion disposed at a relatively outer side of the side. When the heating part heats the inner portion, the body rotates to allow the pressing part to press the outer portion.

Bioprocessing System

A bioprocessing system comprising a series of processing stations for performing operations for bioprocessing is disclosed. The bioprocessing system includes an automated system comprising means for manipulating a fluid connection between a first container and a separable second container whereby to create an aseptic connection that enables a controlled transfer of fluid or cell material between the first container and the second container, wherein the means for manipulating a fluid connection is configured to create an aseptic connection that can be disconnected after the transfer of fluid or cell material is complete to enable a further such fluid connection to be manipulated between the first container and a separable third container, and means for controlling an automated sequence of operation of the processing stations.

Plastic tank having fusion welded parts

A large tubular plastic tank, for use in holding unpressurized water or wastewater, is formed by fusion welding together half-shell parts at lengthwise flange joints to form a tubular body. Then, end caps are fusion welded onto the outermost ends of the tubular body and an assembly of two or more bodies. Fusion weld elements are secured beforehand to the joining surfaces of the tank parts at a factory; the tank parts are then economically stored or shipped in nested condition to a fabrication site remote from the manufacturing site. Electric or electromagnetic energy is used to melt in situ the fusion weld elements which are captured between the joining surfaces of the parts.

Rotatable Pipe Adapter

A pipe adapter includes a first tubular element, a second tubular element, and an annular securing member disposed around and fixed to a second portion of the first tubular element. The annular securing member has a flange portion that contacts and secures the second tubular element axially relative to the first tubular element while also allowing the second tubular element to rotate relative to the first tubular element and the annular securing member. An annular sealing member is located around the first portion of the second tubular element to provide an axial seal along the adapter.

Pipe coupling construction, and coupling

A pipe coupling construction which can be used for coupling of a high-pressure pipe includes an inner bush of a non-metallic material and an outer bush, which bushes in axial section have parts which mesh with each other in order to transmit axial forces. The inner bush can be fused or adhered to an outer cover layer of the pipe. The coupling has a metal sleeve construction. The outer bush has an outer bush protruding end which protrudes with respect to the inner bush and the metal sleeve construction is at least partially located within the outer bush protruding end. The metal sleeve construction and outer bush in axial section have parts which mesh with each other.
