Seamless end connection for conveyor belts
An endless conveyor belt loop includes a conveyor belt that has an elongated body and a substantially uniform width. The ends of the conveyor belt each include a splice formation extending across the width of the conveyor belt that are each configured to mate with the other. A thermoplastic connector is thermally engaged between exposed surfaces formed by the splice formation at the ends of the conveyor belt. When the splice formations are aligned, the thermoplastic connector is thermally engaged and continuously interconnected between the ends for conveyor belt to form a seamless end connection. The thermoplastic connector comprises a thermoplastic copolyester elastomer.
Soft tip cannula
The present disclosure describes numerous example medical instruments that include an elongated portion having a proximal end and a distal end, and a passage defined therethrough and a soft tip coupled to the distal end of the elongated portion. The tip may be formed from a soft material. In some instances, the soft material may have a hardness less than the material forming the elongated portion. The tip may also include a passage that may be of a substantially equivalent size as the passage of the elongated portion. The tip may be coupled to the distal end of the elongated portion at an engagement site having a surface area greater than a cross-sectional area of the elongated portion.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FLAT PANEL FABRICATION OF COMPOSITE STRUCTURES
A system and methods are provided for fabricating structures by using flat composite panels that include interlocking edge features. The system includes two or more composite flat panels cut into individual shapes that include interlocking edge features along at least one edge of each panel. The interlocking edge features may be dovetails that mesh with one another. The panels may be cut by way of at least a 4-axis computer controlled cutting machine. The interlocking edge features may have a shape such that the assembled panels have a degree of freedom in only one plane of motion that allows the interlocking edge features to be meshed together. The interlocking edge features may be configured to mesh at a desired angle relative to either of the panels. The interlocking edge features may provide an edge joint that is disposed at a compound angle. An adhesive permanently affixes the interlocking edge features.
