Structural assembly having injection-bonded joint and method of forming
A method of forming an injection-bonded joint includes providing a first part and a second part having a second part upper edge and a second part lower edge, and forming a chamber wall within a bondline region between mating surfaces of the first part and the second part. The chamber wall divides a bondline length of the bondline region and defines at least one adhesive chamber. The method further includes forming a bondline dam along each of the second part upper edge and the second part lower edge in a manner such that the chamber wall, the bondline dams, and the mating surfaces collectively enclose the adhesive chamber having a chamber upper edge and a chamber lower edge. The method also includes injecting a structural adhesive into the adhesive chamber through an injection port and discharging excess adhesive from the adhesive chamber through a bleed hole.
Stabilizer bush
A bush main body having a circumferential part divided by a first virtual plane includes a first portion that is extended over a predetermined circumferential distance from the first virtual plane, a second portion that is disposed opposite the first portion with the first virtual plane sandwiched in between and is extended over a predetermined circumferential distance from the first virtual plane, and a third portion that is a portion other than the first and second portions. The inside diameter of the inner peripheral surface in a second virtual plane that includes an axial center and is perpendicular to the first virtual plane is set to be greater than the inside diameter of the inner peripheral surface in the first virtual plane while the first portion is in contact with the second portion in a no-load state before bonding to the stabilizer bar.
Methods of Joining or Repairing Lined Pipes and Associated Apparatus
A method of creating a weld between a liner of a section of lined pipe and an electrofusion fitting. The fitting comprises at least one heating element, which is suitably disposed on or in an outer surface of the electrofusion fitting and is electrically isolated from an inner surface of the fitting. The method comprises locating an end of the electrofusion fitting within an end of the section of lined pipe, locating an induction coil within a bore of the electrofusion fitting in the vicinity of the at least one heating element, and supplying electrical power to the induction coil to energise the at least one heating element by electromagnetic induction.
Thermal Joining of Plastic Objects by Means of Heating Means Having Low Curie Temperature
Described is a heating means for thermally connecting two objects each having a plastic material, wherein, in the connecting, a first inner object is surrounded at least partially by a second outer object, and the heating means is located between the first inner object and the second outer object. The heating means has a ribbon-type structure, in which a plurality of openings is formed. These openings are dimensioned such that molten-on plastic material of the first inner object and/or of the second outer object can intrude and can connect to molten-on plastic material of the respective other object. Alternatively or in combination, the openings are filled with a plastic material, which can connect to molten-on plastic material of the first inner object and/or of the second outer object. The ribbon-type structure has a ferromagnetic material, which is inductively heatable and which has a Curie temperature that is lower than 460 C. and/or that is adapted to the melting temperature of the first inner object and/or of the second outer object. There is further described a welded arrangement as well as a welding system having such a heating means as well as a method for thermally connecting two objects each having a plastic material.
HEATING DEVICE AND HEATING METHOD
This heating device is to be used when joining a rubber member onto the surface of a metal member by heating. This heating device has a coil portion and an iron core portion. The coil portion is configured in such a manner as to induce a magnetic field. The iron core portion is arranged in such a manner as to extend from a first region to a second region of the metal member so as to straddle over the rubber member, and passes through the coil portion.
Sonotrode for an ultrasound welding system and method for welding a connection element to a component
The invention relates to a sonotrode for an ultrasound welding system for welding workpieces (20, 30), comprising a pressure element (2) which has a contact surface, which pressure element can be applied to carry out the welding process with said contact surface on one of the workpieces (20) to be welded to each other, wherein the contact surface has an annular design. A centering pin axially projecting over the contact surface is arranged inside the annular contact surface. The invention also relates to a method for welding a connection element (20), in particular an adapter for a PDC sensor, to a component (30), in particular an exterior add-on part of a motor vehicle.
Method For Assembling Thermoplastic Tubes By Induction Welding
A method for assembling two tubes (1, 2) made from thermoplastic materials, that involves welding by heating two applied rotational contact surfaces of two parts of two tubes (1, 2), respectively, arranged end to end or overlapping coaxially (XX). The method involves induction heating of at least one conductive welding element (4), arranged at the interface (3) between the two contact surfaces, by generating a magnetic field at said conductive welding element or elements, such that the melting of the thermoplastic materials constituting said contact surfaces produces a continuous and sealed weld at said interface on at least one closed loop along the entire perimeter of said interface.
Inductive Welding of Plastic Objects With Electrically Interrupted Heating Means
Described is a heating means for thermally connecting two objects each having a plastic material, wherein, during the connecting, a first inner object is surrounded at least partially by a second outer object, and the heating means surrounds the first inner object at least partially along a complete circumferential course around the first inner object, and is located between the first inner object and the second outer object. The heating means has a ribbon-type structure. The ribbon-type structure has an auxiliary heating material, which is inductively heatable, wherein the auxiliary heating material is spatially distributed or arranged along the circumferential course such that an electrical conductivity is interrupted at at least one position along the complete circumferential course around the first inner object. Tool for fusing outlet fittings in a plastic pipe and method of using the tool
A tool for use in fusing an outlet fitting in the side wall of a plastic pipe has a base with three perpendicular guide rods. A movable plate is reciprocated on the guide rods in response to manual operation of a rack-and-pinion. The movable plate has a hole oriented to align a drill adapter and an outlet fitting adapter which are interchangeably inserted into the hole on an axis extending through a predetermined point on the longitudinal axis of the pipe. A retractable ratchet strap tightly girts the pipe to secure the tool against the pipe. The ratchet strap assures that the tool always maintains its original orientation on the pipe and the hole assures that interchanged drill and outlet fitting adapters are always returned to their original orientation in the tool. Therefore, the outlet fitting is always fused in its proper orientation in the pipe.
