METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods for assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Particular aspects of the present disclosure involve an anvil and a spreader mechanism adjacent the anvil. During the assembly process, a first substrate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating anvil. The spreader mechanism operates to activate an elastic material by stretching the elastic material in the cross direction to a first elongation. The elastic material is then consolidated to a second elongation in the cross direction, wherein the second the elongation is less than the first elongation. The consolidated elastic material is then bonded between a first substrate and a second substrate on the anvil. In some configurations, the first and second substrates may be nonwovens, and the elastic material may be an elastic film and/or an elastic laminate.
Elastic Laminates and Methods for Assembling Elastic Laminates for Absorbent Articles
The present disclosure relates to elastic laminates and methods for assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Elastic laminates may include one or more reinforcement layers positioned between unstretched portions of elastic materials and substrates to which the elastic materials are bonded.
Counter-tool, ultrasonic welding machine and method for producing a seal weld and cosmetic weld
The present invention relates to a counter-tool for an ultrasonic welding machine, wherein the counter-tool comprises two separate sealing surfaces which are intended to come into contact with a material to be processed, characterized in that the counter-tool is formed in two parts, wherein the two parts of the counter-tool are movable relative to one another, and each of the two parts comprises one of the two sealing surfaces.
Method for producing disposable worn article and welding device used in same
Partly-finished products having side panel pieces are supplied intermittently to places between welding surfaces of a horn and a rotating anvil. Thus, the side pieces of the partly-finished products, are welded continuously to each other with a predetermined pattern. The welding surfaces of the anvil are provided over an entire circumference about a rotating shaft so that the interval between the welding surfaces of the anvil and the horns is maintained at an interval at which the respective side panel pieces are continuously weldable to each other with the predetermined pattern regardless of a rotating position of the anvil.
Device and method for joining rubber members
When overlapping and joining together end portions of a rubber member, it becomes possible to join them at a joining area smaller than a conventional one by increasing the joining area. There is provided a joining device for overlapping end portions, of a rubber member (tire constituent member) with one upper end portion placing on the other lower end portion and joining the end portions of the rubber member, in which a pressing roll (disk-shaped roll) rotating about an inclined shaft is rolled while being pressed against the overlapped upper end portion of the rubber member, and the upper end portion is extended by a shearing force generated at this time to increase a joining area between the both end portions.
Ultrasonic sealing of packages
A method and apparatus for sealing films. In one embodiment the sealing device comprises a horn and an anvil. The film has a standard portion and an increased portion. Increased energy is applied to the film in the increased portion compared to the energy applied to the standard portion. Such a method allows for sealing of varying number of layers.
SEALING STATION FOR SEALING OF FILM BAGS AND CORRESPONDING METHODS
The invention relates to a sealing station in a film bag filling device for sealing of film bags after a filling process, wherein the sealing station comprises a first and a second sealing arm for sealing of several filled film bags that are arranged next to one another, wherein the first sealing arm is moveable with a first drive shaft and the second sealing arm with a second drive shaft. A servo engine is disposed on the first drive shaft, and a drive movement of the first drive shaft from a first gear wheel is transferred to a second gear wheel that encroaches in the first gear wheel and from the second gear wheel to the second drive shaft. The invention further relates to a method for sealing of film bags after a filling process with the sealing station according to the invention with the following steps: positioning of filled film bags below the sealing station; closing of the sealing arms and application of a contact pressure with a first value and sealing of the filled film bags.
ULTRASONIC ROLL TAIL CLOSURE OF NON-WOVEN WEB MATERIAL METHOD AND APPARATUS
An apparatus for securing the tail end of a spirally wound roll of nonwoven, polymer-based material to the roll to preclude unintended unwinding of the roll, the apparatus comprising a winding assembly for forming about a winding axis a spirally wound roll with a tail end, a fixture for a roll tacking assembly with an ultrasonic tool oscillating on an oscillating axis, and a fixture for moving the tool into momentary tangential contact with an outermost winding layer of the roll in a manner that orients the oscillating axis orthogonally to the winding axis. The apparatus implements a method of locating the tail end of the spirally wound roll and orienting the tail end in relation to the securing tool.
Stitcher and method for stitching together strips of rubber material
A stitcher (1) for connecting strips of rubber material (4, 5) into a substantially continuous strip according to this invention comprises a surface (3), a stitching head (6) placed over it having a stitch unit (7) for stitching the strips of rubber material together along a stitch line, which stitch line includes an angle having a longitudinal direction (L) of the continuous strip, a drive mechanism for driving a relative movement of the stitching head with respect to the surface along a first (X) and a second (Y) direction, wherein the second direction is oriented transverse to the first direction, and a control device (11) for controlling the drive mechanism such that the stitch unit follows the stitch line. In one embodiment the stitching head is rotatably connected to the drive mechanism wherein the axis of rotation extends transverse to the surface. The stitching head furthermore comprises a wheel (15) that is placed at a distance from the axis of rotation, wherein the wheel with its tread abuts the surface.
