Method and apparatus for manufacturing a tampon packaging
A method and apparatus for manufacturing a tampon packaging where the packaging is manufactured separately from the tampon. A first transversal end is overlapped with a second transversal end of a strip of heat-sealable film. The first transversal end is heat sealed to the second transversal end of the heat-sealable film, thereby forming a tube of film.
APPAREL AND OTHER PRODUCTS INCORPORATING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER MATERIAL
A yarn or thread may include a plurality of substantially aligned filaments, with at least ninety-five percent of a material of the filaments being a thermoplastic polymer material. Various woven textiles and knitted textiles may be formed from the yarn or thread. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be thermal bonded to other elements to form seams. A strand that is at least partially formed from a thermoplastic polymer material may extend through the seam, and the strand may be thermal bonded at the seam. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be shaped or molded, incorporated into products, and recycled to form other products.
Method and Apparatus for Manufacturing a Tampon Packaging
The invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a tampon packaging (24), comprising the steps of: a) wrapping a strip of heat-sealable film (23) around a holding means (1, 18), whereby a first transversal end (27) of said strip overlaps with a second transversal end (28) of said strip; b) heat sealing said first transversal end (27) to said second transversal end (28), thereby forming a tube of film, and c) removing said tube of film from said holding means, thereby obtaining a tampon packaging, characterized in that said heat sealing step (b) is performed at least partly during a combined movement of said holding means (1, 18) and said strip (23). The invention further pertains to related apparatuses, systems of tampon and tampon packaging and methods for manufacturing a packaged tampon.
Method of Controlling Air Temperature for Making Seals
A method and apparatus for making bags from a film that follows a film path through a bag machine includes an input section located on the film path, a sealing section located on the film path down stream of the input section, an output section located on the film path downstream of the sealing section, and a controller, connected to control the sealing section. The sealing section includes a sealer that includes a heater block and a manifold. There is an air flow path from the heater block to the manifold. Air is heated in the heater block in response to a control signal provided by the controller to the heater block. The heated air is provided through the air path to the manifold. A temperature sensor is disposed in at least one of the air path and the manifold.
Bonding of heat-activated films including a plasticizer
Articles including a polymer film, a plasticizer and a substrate are included. A method of bonding the film to the substrate includes the use of the plasticizer which provides a durable bond by using a lower temperatures and shorter bonding times than would be required in the absence of the plasticizer.
METHOD FOR MONITORING THE SEALING OF A CONTAINER AND DEVICE WITH IMPROVED SEALING MONITORING
A method for monitoring the sealing of a container in a system or device is described. The method includes the following steps: controlling the heating element to heat a heating stamp to a predetermined sealing temperature, monitoring the temperature of the heating stamp, determining a temperature over time curve of the heating stamp by means of at least one temperature sensor, determining at least one characteristic of the temperature over time curve, comparing the determined at least one characteristic of the temperature over time curve with a reference value, and determining a sealing property of the sealing of the container based on said comparison of the determined at least one characteristic of the temperature over time curve with the reference value.
Thermal caulking device
The present invention provides a thermal caulking device which can quickly heat and cool an object to be caulked with low electrical power. Provided is a thermal caulking device which caulks a portion of a plastic part 7 as an object to be caulked, the thermal caulking device including: a metal tip 3 having a pressing part 3a which presses the object to be caulked and a heating rod 3c which is provided upright at a center part of the pressing part 3a; heating means 10c for heating the heating rod 3c; a cooling pipe 9 which cools the heating rod 3c; cooling fluid supply means 4 for supplying a cooling fluid to the cooling pipe 9; a holder 1 which holds the metal tip 3 and the cooling pipe 9 so that the cooling pipe 9 delivers the cooling fluid toward the heating rod 3c; and control means 6 for controlling the heating means 10c and the cooling fluid supply means 4, wherein the control means 6 heats the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c by the heating means 10c, and after the object to be caulked is thermally caulked by the pressing part 3a, supplies the cooling fluid from the cooling fluid supply means 4 to the cooling pipe 9 to cool the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c.
JOINING METHOD
A joining method of joining two pieces of subjects to be joined together, the subjects being a first member and a second member that has a joint insertion portion in which the first member is inserted, the method including: heating the second member that is set in an expansion restricting member and in which the first member is inserted to the joint insertion portion to first temperature to cause the second member to have thermal expansion and thereby causing the joint insertion portion to have plastic deformation in a direction in which a diameter shrinks with mechanically restricting thermal expansion of the second member by an inner surface of the expansion restricting member; and cooling the second member after the heating to join the first member and the second member together.
Low Mass Staking Module
A low mass staking module includes a punch having a cavity on a first side, a contact surface on the second side opposite the first side, and a circular flange extending about an outer edge thereof, the punch formed of a thermally-conductive material, an annular housing engaged with the punch about the circular flange at a first end, and a heating element located inside the annular housing. The heating element has an output side in contact with the contact surface of the punch, the contact surface having a shape conforming to a shape of the output side of the heating element. The punch is desirably a low thermal mass punch, while the heating element may be a high power (watt) density, solid state, ceramic, resistant heating element (e.g., aluminum nitride or boron nitride heaters).
