A portable extinguisher for an aerosol generating article having a solid heat source is described. The extinguisher includes an inner element extending between a first portion and an opposing second portion and having a longitudinal axis. An outer shell completely surrounds at least a portion of the inner element. The outer shell is slidable along the longitudinal axis of the inner element between an open position and a covered position. The first portion includes a cavity sized to receive a solid heat source of an aerosol generating article. The cavity is accessible in the open position and surrounded by the outer shell in the covered position.

A portable extinguisher for an aerosol generating article having a solid heat source is described. Once the plunger is released, the recoil of the spring assembly causes the plunge assembly to return to its normal position.

The system includes a support arrangement supporting at least a portion of a smoking article to form a cantilever with respect to the support arrangement. The system also includes a suction device in fluid communication with the first longitudinal end of the smoking article, the suction device being configured to apply suction to the first longitudinal end to simulate a draw or puff on the smoking article. The system further includes an ignition device configured to ignite an ignitable material of the smoking article about the second longitudinal end thereof, the ignited ignitable material being transformed to an ash in response to successive draws or puffs applied by the suction device. The system still further including an ash-dislodging mechanism configured to selectively impact the cantilevered smoking article to periodically remove the ash.

An apparatus has a housing that has a first section and a second section. The first section has a first compartment for storing a cigarette and a second compartment for containing a cutting device having a blade. The first compartment is sealed from the second compartment. A slide button on the housing allows the user to move the cutting device within the second compartment. The second section has an opening and a hollow interior that are sized to allow a user to insert a portion of a cigarette through the opening and into the hollow interior. A user inserts the used portion of a cigarette into the opening and hollow interior and then uses the slide button to move the blade into the hollow interior to cut off the used portion of the cigarette. The user then places the remaining portion of the cigarette in the first compartment.

The invention provides an accessory for cigarette smokers which provides a portable cigarette accessory device for cutting the end of a partially smoked cigarette and storing the partially smoked cigarette for later enjoyment wherein the device is attachable to a disposable lighter.
