Panel for forming a floor covering
A panel including at least a substrate of thermoplastic material and a top layer with a printed decor and a translucent or transparent wear layer. The substrate has a thickness larger than one half of the thickness of the entire panel, and the substrate at least includes two layers, where the two layers each include thermoplastic material. A first one of the two layers further includes at least 60 percent by weight of filler materials and a second one of the two layers includes less fillers or is not filled, and is situated above the first one of the two layers.
METHOD FOR FABRICATING COMPOSITE STRUCTURES USING COMBINED RESIN FILM AND DRY FABRIC
A method for creating a fan cowl with a hollow hat stiffener includes pressing a resin film between a non-crimp fabric (NCF) and a release poly-film to create a resin-fabric sheet. The method further includes cutting the resin-fabric sheet to a pre-determined shape to create at least one of a first resin-fabric preform, a second resin-fabric preform, and a third resin-fabric preform, draping at least the first resin-fabric preform over a tool to create an outer layer of the fan cowl, setting a mandrel over the outer layer, and draping the second resin-fabric preform over at least a portion of the mandrel and at least a portion of the first resin-fabric preform to form the hollow hat stiffener having a geometry similar to a shape of the mandrel.
FLOOR PANEL FOR FORMING A FLOOR COVERING
Floor panel for forming a floor covering, where the floor panel includes a carrier on the basis of a thermoplastic material and a top layer provided on the carrier. The thermoplastic material is free from plasticizers or includes a plasticizer in an amount up to maximum 20 phr, where the thermoplastic material is foamed or expanded, and where the carrier is provided with a reinforcement layer.
SPREADER ELEMENT FOR MANUFACTURING UNIDIRECTIONAL FIBER-REINFORCED TAPES
Disclosed is a fiber-reinforced composite and methods and apparatuses for making the same. Some fiber-reinforced composites include a matrix material including a thermoplastic material and a non-woven fibrous region having a plurality of continuous fibers dispersed in the matrix material, wherein the width and the length of the non-woven fibrous region are substantially equal to the width and the length, respectively, of the liber-reinforced composite, wherein the non-woven fibrous region has a mean relative area fiber coverage (RFAC) (%) of from 65 to 90 and a coefficient of variance (COV) (%) of from 3 to 20, and wherein each of the plurality of continuous fibers is substantially aligned with the length of the fiber-reinforced composite.
Method of producing a fibrous material pre-impregnated with thermoplastic polymer in a fluid bed
A method of producing a pre-impregnated fibrous material including a fibrous material of continuous fibres and a thermoplastic polymer matrix, wherein the pre-impregnated fibrous material is produced in a single unidirectional strip or in a plurality of parallel unidirectional strips, the method including the following steps: (i) impregnating the fibrous material in the form of a strand or a plurality of parallel strands with the thermoplastic polymer in the form of a powder in a fluid bed; and (ii) shaping the strand or parallel strands of the fibrous material impregnated as in step (i) by calendering by at least one heating calender in the form of a single unidirectional strip or of a plurality of parallel unidirectional strips, the heating calender, in the latter case, including a plurality of calendering grooves, and the pressure and/or a spacing between the rollers of the calender being regulated by an auxiliary system.
Planar composite material
A planar composite material comprises an UD fiber layer A made of discrete reinforcing fiber rovings and a fiber nonwoven layer B made of a thermoplastic nonwoven which may contain reinforcing fibers, wherein the layers A and B are needled to each other.
SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING A LIGHTWEIGHT THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE SHEET
A thermoplastic composite sheet may be composed of a polymer material matrix and a lightweight material that is disposed throughout the polymer material matrix. The polymer material matrix may extend continuously throughout a length, width, and thickness of the thermoplastic composite sheet. The polymer material matrix may be a fully polymerized thermoplastic material. The lightweight material may be fully saturated by the thermoplastic material of the polymer material matrix. The thermoplastic composite sheet may include between 50 and 99 weight percent of the thermoplastic material and between 1 and 50 weight percent of the lightweight material. The thermoplastic composite sheet may be free of reinforcing fibers.

Method for manufacturing floor panels and floor panel for forming a floor covering
Method for manufacturing floor panels, where the floor panels include a carrier on the basis of thermoplastic material and a top layer provided on the carrier; and where the method further includes at least the steps of strewing the thermoplastic material and consolidating the strewn thermoplastic material; where the thermoplastic material is strewn as a dry-blend.
Method of making web with partially embedded fibers
A method of making an adhesive backed web, wherein the adhesive layer of such web has partially embedded filaments projecting therefrom. The filaments may comprise a thermoplastic material or a hot melt adhesive. The filaments are contacted to a major surface of a liner material then pressed partially thereinto. An adhesive layer, as from an adhesive backed film, is then laminated to the filament-containing liner, allowing the adhesive layer to pick up the filaments.
